Sons of great fighters often get over-hyped. Camacho Jr. is one that springs to mind.

In the beginning I think the hype was justified. Camacho Jr had great hand speed and possessed good power. But in the end he turned out to be a biitch with no heart and poor training habits

Being disappointing of late and being a hype job is totally different, Joan Guzman is P4P one of the most skilled fighters in the world today. And he could beat anyone on any given night.

And i honestly can't see how any true fan could find watching a skilled fighter like that boring. But i guess everyone has there own tastes/opinions.

In England ,Pele Reid was massively hyped. A few heavy KO defeats later he became a complete nobody.

    Well said.

Guzman disgraced himself last year but is far from just a hype job.

    And boring? Behave.

i know everybody has their own opinion and taste about boxing and how fighters should be. I, for one, likes a good fight. back and forth action. guzman doesnt do that. when guzman fought soto there was one time that he turned his back from soto and ran. come on man, who does that? he might have been good before but that was from mediocre fighters? his last KO was 2004. he hyped himself by sending letters to pacman too.. what a tool. even his last fight with ameth diaz was crap. he is lazy in training and it shows on how he fights. he's supposed to be a slick boxer with amazing handspeed yet his punch count is low compared to what is expected of him. he had his chance with campbell yet he blew what could have been the biggest money maker of his life.i dont think floyd sr even trains him anymore. if he is not hype then i dont know what hype is..
    well thats just my opinion.
