What a lot of Donaire supporters are forgetting is that before Darchinyan starched Mijares all the talk was about a potential Mijares/ Montiel fight, now that Vic has laid waste to Mijares all that attention has shifted to a Darchinyan/ Montiel fight which has the potential to be a great fight!!!
I want to see a Donaire rematch but its not concievable that its is as big or as attractive or as important as a Darchinyan/ Montiel fight is at this time!
A fight between Darchinyan/ Montielk will crown a Ring Jr Bantam champion. Its a fight between the #1 & #2 fighters in the division & between the 2 they have pretty much cleaned up the division, so a fight between the 2 is a no brainer to be next!
Now if Donaire can even get past Martinez (lets face it: he looked like sh*t against Mithalane) then maybe we can talk about a rematch. But by that time Darchinyan may have moved on to more lucrative bout with the likes of Vasquez or Marquez.
Those that think Darchinyan is ducking Donaire are seriously deluding themselves as I think Vic has proved he will fight anyone! Just because he is deciding to take on higher profile, just as difficult if not moreso than Donaire only means he is trying to increase his star potential & earning potential!

I can't forget that Darchi mauled Mijares for I predicted it correctly that Darchi will defeat Mijares... One of the very few who predicted a Darchi win...
Darchi vs. Montiel will be a good fight but Montiel is already moving to bantamweight and will be fighting for the interim WBO bantamweight title against Eric Morel. A temporary vacancy was created when bantamweight champ Gerry "FEARLESS" Peñalosa is scheduled to challenge WBO super bantam champ JuanMa Lopez.
As for Mthalane, I consider him a very good boxer... Even Darchinyan might have problems breaking down his tight guards and evading his power counters.
Darchi is still very far from a Vazquez or Rafa fight. I think he will still have at least one fight at bantamweight before landing in those fights.
We didn't say that Darchinyan is ducking Donaire... It's Gary Shaw who is avoiding to make a Donaire-Darchinyan rematch fight and since Shaw is part of Team Darchinyan then I think it's correct to say, Team Darchinyan is ducking Nonito Donaire...

It doesn't look like Montiel is fighting Morel now anyway, plus he has been 118 before (when he fought Gonzalez) & moved back down so I see now reason he wouldn't do the same again for a mega fight with Darchinyan.
I think Donaire supporters should worry about the upcoming Martinez bout as there is a good chance imo that he get beaten.
As for Mithalane I don't think he's that good, maybe it was the layoff that effected Donaire or his personal issues at the time.
You have to think about it logically, I can see where Shaw is coming from & if it was me I'd be upset too & wouldn't want someone who had betrayed me to make money from me & I think you'd be the same!!!

Yeah I agree, but you have to see where Shaw is coming from. If it was me I wouldn't want you making money from me after you betrayed me... its just common sense isn't it?
Like myself & Eagle have stated on this thread we both feel Darchinyan would be victorious in a rematch & would love to see it happen. But Shaw has taken Darchinyan back to the top & I suppose Darchinyan is happy with the way things have gone & I assume he is showing some loyalty to Shaw by standing by his side in his decision as I would in someone who had done good by me.

Some times patience is needed. Darchinyan-Donaire 2 will happen provided both keep winning. To me that's the biggest obstacle. If Darchinyan is to face Montiel next, than losing is highly likely. Donaire needs to concentrate on the task at hand. Like the homie Galaxy said, Martinez is no walk over. He's very capable of beating Donaire. If this fight was taking place in Vegas or some other venue than it's current one I would go with Martinez to win. Good thing for Donaire it's taking place in the Philippines. I don't care how much Martinez dominates Donaire. If he doesn't stop him, he doesn't win.
