They had a verbal agreement in place at the start of the summer. And even if they didn't, Hoya offered the fight when ? July ? That's 6 weeks notice. No way he would be ready for a September bout.

Hoya wanted to fight Hatton in September...by that time Hatton had signed to fight Paulie. Hoya has never offered Hatton the December date.

Hoya wanted to have all the advantages over his opponent to "guarantee" his sure win... Hatton was scared, he can't deal or negotiate with the Golden Girl... Hatton is powerless to deal/negotiate with a crossdresser...

When Mayweather announced his definate retirement DLH asked Ricky if Ricky would beat him up instead but he had already promised Paulie he would beat him up.
