There you go again with your "no chance" prediction... Haven't you learned from PAC-Hoya??

And you think Gerry has no advantage at all, how about experience and boxing skills??
    .
There is no doubt at all that Lopez is in his prime. If he loses is cuz he turned out to be overrated. Not cuz he's old and shot like De La Hoya was.
I agree... but give Peñalosa some respect and a slim chance... Everybody has a chance even how slim it is... (even Hatton )...

After seeing Hopkins upset Pavlik & Mosley KO Margarito, I'll give Gerry a Good Chance of an upset. Gerry's a masterboxer, Iron Chinned & has a Decent Power. JuanMa really is not a Speedy guy, He's got Power but Power won't matter if it cannot LAND ON THE BUTTON. Gerry's solid defensively so I don't see a juanMa KO.

Gerry's only Chance is a one Punch KO. It will be either by a Body Punch or a Plush left hook to the Chin of Juanma. Juanma's too inexperience. His Fights are mostly a Quick KO. He was taken to the distance by lesser fighter than Gerry. No way Gerry wins the decision in Puerto Rico so I think Gerry will go for Broke for a KO around the Middle of the fight. My wish result is Gerry KO by a Body punch around rd 9. It's not Likely but I'm wishing for an Upset.

Like what he did to Jhonny Gonzales... I was so happy with Gerry's win over J-Gonz since I picked him to defeat Jhonny...

I think even a 60% Lopez beats him
Pretty flawed statement there, we have no idea what a 60% Lopez is, that's what makes the fight interesting is that he is completely untested in the championship rounds, he's blown out his best opponents on paper in the first. I won't argue with you that Gerry has most everything tangible going against him and Lopez is probably a good bet, you obviously have seen more of both fighters than I have. Having said that, Gerry hasn't been seriously hurt in a fight to my knowledge, and if Lopez doesn't blast him out it should be interesting to see what kind of pace he can maintain and whether he holds up in the late rounds. Penalosa is fully capable of changing the fight with one shot as Gonzales found out, he may also just invest to the body early and hang tough. Has Juanma ever even been past 5 or 6? I won't check but certainly not against a live body or recently. If nothing else it's an excellent measuring stick to see what Lopez can really bring over 12 rounds, not to say it will necessarily go that far. What if he tries to blast him out a la Ponce but Penalosa starts landing to the body and stays right there with him? Maybe Juan is a complete front runner or doesn't take a shot to well. I've certainly seen nothing to suggest it's out of the question.

I think you forgot the real king at 122, Celestino "THE TOWERING INFERNO" Caballero... He's the current 122 WBA and IBF champion and he will give anyone at 122 a very difficult fight...

JuanMa is young and being young also means inexperience and raw... Peñalosa is old and it also means very experienced and a master boxer...
    .
No Saddoboxer , i dont forgot Celestino Caballero and i dont underestimate him also , is just that i mentioned the best who probably can give more fight in certain way........IMO

Juanma will have his hands full of Penalose just like Ponce did but I think the workrate would be prevalent to the eyes of the judges and it didn't help him that the fight is happening in PR. Juanma UD.

Juanma 1st rd stoppage. Penalosa will go out on his shield with about 30 seconds of the 1st round remaining

You got me on that one..I'll ride the waves. I think Penalosa KTFO of Juanma in the first 30 seconds of round 1.

Unless he's just gotten old overnight this could be a tough fight, he's way too skilled and tough to get blown out early by JuanMa, if that happens I'd be shocked. I don't know, I just have a lot of respect for Penalosa, and he's looked pretty good lately, should have gotten the decision versus Ponce, stopped Gonzalez, he has been inactive though but still this is JuanMa's biggest step up.

    Sup guys,

been gone for a while but wanted to stop by and say my prediction for this fight. of course my boy JuanMa. 5 or 6th round stoppage for me. Gerry is a great fighter but at this stage, JuanMa is too strong, to young and to much of a force for the ageing Penalosa. This also is the best fight JuanMa could take leading up to a fight with the likes of Vasquez, Marquez and Caballero. JuanMa baby!!

I think JuanMa knocks him out in the first half of the fight but I wouldn't mind seeing it go longer just to see him get some rounds in against a quality boxer. But he's got scary power at that weight so I don't think it'll last too long.

I agree. I think he sees the 2nd minute before it all goes black for him.
