For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Ohh what a fight!! PAC/Hatton vs. Cotto...
Regarding PAC vs. Cotto, I already mentioned this on the other thread, PAC's strength (southpaw, stamina, speed) is Cotto's weaknesses...
Cotto vs. Hatton is a total inside war and I think Cotto has the stronger, more brutal inside arsenal compared to Hatton...

I would much rather see Cotto.Williams because it would have that Hagler/Hearns feel to it. Niether fighter backing down until some one gets knocked out. I think Both Hagler and Williams have the tougher chin but then again I don't know because Williams was rocked plenty by Matthysse and then again, he was also able to get past and beat Hands of Plaster Margacheater so it would be a very, very interesting fight. I wont complain about Cotto/Clotey either as that would be a great match up. Clotey is no joke and should never be taken lightly. Very strong contender he is and he does deserve a try at an attempt at unification as he says he wants, regardless of who he has faught or has not faught those Africans are tough as they come and can make anyones night a living hell. But if the money is right and the winner of PAC/Hatton is made, it should be done at a catch weight like 144 to make things a little more even if there is such a thing. Cotto at 140 has a mermalade chin.

Personally, I've never liked fights between boxers with such a height difference. It makes for awkward, sometimes boring fights. The Hearns of the 80's was a notable exception, and all his fights were wonderfully exciting. IMO, Williams should go up a couple of divisions to where he's fighting guys his own size.
He is already doing this but no one can count him out of the 147 as he has been able to contend at this weight and at weights above. This makes Williams a unique p4p champion if he can continue to move down where he dont belong. Anyone can move up but moving back down is the freak thing and Williams is a freak at that so far. Ok wait, not any one can move up with out getting chased back down, so far Williams has been doing pretty good at moving up and down and that is special.
What a fight this would be.. if it was against either Hatton or Pac Man. I'm not going to make a prediction yet as it's still early days (this fight would be in November-December I guess, presuming it's the very next one for Ricky or Manny).
But I think Cotto should focus on his own division rather than wanting to face naturally smaller guys, and he has plenty of competition in his own division.
Also remember that GG was looking for "legacy cementing" fights no matter what the cost. He didn't hide (nor refute) the fact that he ran from potential fights with the likes of Margarito and Cotto himself. Hell... he would've taken on Ivan Calderon at 108 if he could starve himself that much.
Cotto is much more interested in fighting at his own weight, against other mega fighters that the public wants to see. So I don't know what Cotto himself would say... but if it was me I'd say "You want me... come get me at 147."
As far as I can remember, it's some boxing writer(s) who started mentioning and wishing for a PAC-Cotto fight... then Cotto started to bite the bait by mentioning PAC as a possible future opponent... You know, this fight can be made if the money and weight class (or catch weight) can be agreed...
