Intesting observation Saddo, styles make fights and maybe JMM is made for Diaz' constant pressure game plan.

Who has the knockout edge?

JMM definitely has the edge in KO punch/power but JuanDiaz has good tight defense on his head... JMM could KO him through a body shot...

Juan Diaz on the other hand has not much KO power but made some tough opponents (Freitas, Julio Diaz) quit on their stool through accumulation of punches...

Although you can classify Diaz, Pacquiao and Marquez as being pressure fighters have all have different styles. Diaz is more of an inside brawler like mini George Forman. Marquez is more of a counter puncher and takes advantage of a fighters mistakes. Pacquiao's punches come from the outside and his skills have increased over his last two fights that actually warrent a changing of his previously defined brawler/puncher style that made is offense wreak less.

Diaz with his inside brawler style will most likely back up Marquez because his counters work better against outside boxing styles, except for Chris John. So I my guess is that Maquez will have to land a lot of shots countering while backing up to get Diaz. Although I have only seen Diaz twice he might have a different approach with Marquez's counter puch style.

I'll take Pacquiaos frontal strengh over Juan Diaz's any day of the week,especially considering his current ventures and success at a higher weight now.Too much is made of JMMs counterpunching....He also can make bid adaptations,adjust in style and exploit a guys mistakes...with added pop.If Diazs game is too walk forward and wither him down with inside volume,I think Marquez cuts him to ribbons.

I'm not a Marquez fan but I love watching him beat almost every other fighter except PAC ofcourse just to PROVE how GREAT BOTH of them are.
The only advantage I see from Juan Diaz in this fight is his size, I'm not sure if that is enough to beat JMM.

Based on the majority of the posts in the thread, Marquez will come out victorious Saturday. Yet some of you make it seem like its going to be a walk in the park for Marquez and are underestimating Juan Diaz. Im an underdog person and i hope Diaz proves his critics wrong. He's got some fireworks of his own to put on display.

I remember going to the Mandalay Bay to the Castillo-Corrales I match and the Marquez-Polo undercard fight was straight out boring. Marquez doest brawl for shit, but that's intelligent though. He picks who he brawls with if he has brawled at all.

He made Pacman look like an idiot their first fight knockin him down 3 times in 1 round and not beign able to finish it,then he beat him in almost all of the rounds...were talkin prime Pacman here.On the second fight many MANY had JMM winnin, Pacman won by split decision by like 1 point.

Let me say first, I am not a diehard PacFan.. but know this...
If 1 judge had given Pacman a 10-6 round like the other two (instead of a 10-7) Pac would have won that fight.

In the second fight.. It would be near impossible to give most of the later rounds to JMM, and I think that a SD was a bit more narrow of a window than most saw the fight. All praise be ot JMM. I hope he comes back and KOs Pac the next time just so it would shake up the forum a little bit.. But, the Marquez's are having a hard time being in the winners circle with their respective trilogies. (see:vasquez-marquez)
