I had to hire the corner at the last minute,I was told it was a good corner.Id never sent a fighter to Trinidad before,its just not my stomping grounds.
Things went wrong with the other 3 corners Id set up for her,so we had to hire locals,options had been reduced.

The fight was stopped to prevent your wife from getting hurt, it's not a fix, the corner didn't fail, nobody spiked the food.

It's just what happens when a prospect fights a no hoper, knocks them down, cuts them up and their corner wants the fight stopped. The ref stops the fight.

Actually following the links below I ran into Trainer Monkey's missus own account of her last loss. Suprisingly (considering hubby is such a loon) she talks about it in a very sensible and honest way, she got beat, the girl was much better, her corner were great, she was totally happy with the way everything went down she just wasn't good enough on the night etc.

A nice honest post, I wasn't good enough on the night but i tried my best so that's that kind of thing.

I read this whole thing trying to keep quiet, but this here baffles me. Maybe it's YOU that is failing. It seems that every part of your fighters career that you have direct contact in is doomed. Perhaps, since it seems that your fighter is your wife (correct?), you should step away and allow her to follow her path with people that are more concerned with her welfare and success than their own egotistical glory stroking. That way, you will never have to accept any blame (which is what you seem to crave) and she doesn't have to try and succeed with your inferior training.

Perhaps you should just admit that you are out of your league and allow her some semblance of humility by stepping aside rather than standing in her way?

Now if you want the honest assesment of what happened,it was relatively even except for the knockdown,but Leslie is PO'ed at herself for not slipping well enough during the fight.Lorissa wasnt hurting her,but she was scoring.She was hurting Lorissa but not able to put her down.
If it had gone the full 4 I know the cards would have been skewed,but she was still in it to win it when her corner screwed up and got in to the ring mid-round.

If you had seen Lorissa's debut fight, where she fought Shelley "The Killer" Brazil and won that fight 51 seconds in the first round, you would know that Rivas is a surgeon. She trains with MALE CHAMPIONSHIP BOXERS. She puts her male sparring partners on the mat, and she has been that way ALL...HER...LIFE.

I know because I trained my sister in the martial arts when she was FIVE YEARS OLD, but when she got older, she chose her own path, as is the course of nature. Before the end of this year, she will hold a title, and that will be on the basis of merit, not because anyone gave it to her. I will give Leslie her due because she actually got in the ring with Lorissa, but if you think that if that fight had lasted any longer than it did, that Leslie would have done anything less than exposed herself to undue harm, then you must be out of your mind. Rivas had command of that card from 15 seconds of the first round, and dominated from that time on until she let loose with her well-known-deadly right hands. I knew before she arrived in Trinidad that her victory was going to come from the damage that her right hand is known to inflict, and in that fact, I was a prophet. I saw the fight on webcast and was speaking to the fight commentators the entire time.
