Victor Ortiz is the first person with more than like 99 cents to their name that actually wants to eat at Taco Bell
I think Daud would have beaten Guerrero I really do.
I've seen Daud fight before he's bad news for anyone the kids got lot's of talent he comes from a boxing family and has been in a gym all his life.
If you run a search in this board and look for his name you'll see that I mentioned him a few months back and I've only seen 1 of his fights but I was thouroughly impressed with the kid.
I think Guerrero found the easy way out and Kellerman sure made it known didn't he.
Stellar performance by VictorI think the kid showed great poise and control in the ring. I think it was smart of him to show he could box and give himself a new look.
I think the fact that he blasted Mike is insane if you recall I said Mike would be a good fight for him as Mike would take him the distance and we could see how Victor handles that... Well.. ummmm. that wasn't the case.
The spotlight though was on Kirkland and wow I gotta say I was wrong about the kid and he shut me the fuck up. I said this fight could only end in 2 ways early TKO for Julio or decision Julio but I could not see Kirkland wining. Well he won and not only won but he whopped that ass allover the fucking ring. Not impressed with his skills because he's too come forward and needs to learn a handful of things before getting near anyone with world class skills. A jab for starters and waist movement.
All in all a good night for boxing.
I'm a big fan of Ronald Hearns. That being said, I DON'T want to see him in the ring with Kirkland. Kirkland would eat him alive. You're right in that he doesn't use head feints enough and his defense is pretty much what he can block with his hands en route to throwing another punch, but he's going to cook quite a few guys alive before he tastes his first defeat. I think Forrest is still good enough to beat him, maybe Mora. You're going to need power and the ability to fight going backwards to beat Kirkland. Julio being forced to fight on his heels took him way out of his game and he was uncomfortable the entire time. Kirkland has a killer-killer instinct. He tasted early success and forgot about the body. Wolfe needs to work on his focus more, the kid has a ton of determination, but he needs to develop a ring intelligence. Maybe if they could bring in a Mayweather, but I think that could be very disastrous for Team Kirkland if everybody doesn't get along.
Oops
It was good to hear that in the corner, Anne was giving good advice along those lines. So a lot of it may be a lack of maturity on Kirkland's part; which is probably why you think someone like Forrest could beat him? I like his chances to learn, however, judging by the apparent knowledge of his camp. It could be, though, that only the pain of a defeat would drive home the importance of those lessons?
