To be honest mate your right
except for a few end comments like having prime written after Barrera and Morrales those two warriors faced wars and have taken damage that Pac has never seen.

Odlh was gaunt and smaller looking than Manny when they fought; but hey 10/10 for what Manny did that was great.

Pac is great dont get me wrong.

If Pac didnt exist and have his core strength and great genetics Marquez would rule the lesser weights.
Marquez is not genetically the same as Pac he is not as strong ;He is a better boxer though. And he has a bigger heart because he comes back from Mannys damage and takes rounds off him.
Marquez is like an old style 15 rounder and would win if those fights went like that i belive.

The thing we usual fight fans have not against Pac but against his fans is that they cant see they are simply blessed by having such a man come out of their country.

Instead they waltz in here with their egos in full flight and try to tell everyone which way the wind blows about the whole sport just because they have this one great fighter to ride on the back of.

It gets tiring dealing with people with such egos who just want to be pumped up further by being correct at every turn and can only talk up one fighter who is great for sure, but hey this is a big sport with many fighters in it.

That is why people have writting stuff up about Marquez;and rightly so.

I agree also that Marquez shouldnt be pfp #1 at the moment.

Think about it,the fact that we are asking this question at this point in Marquezs career and age speaks to his talent and skills.Honestly asking, how many Marquez fights have you viewed throughout his career??

Make no mistake,Marquez has earned respect......as has Pacquiao !

I watched many of marquez's fights and like i said earlier he is a great fighter and hes got some of that animal instinct that barrera or morales had aka when they get hurt they go ballistic. I even a few nights ago i got stuck into some youtube, strictly watching marquez.

I just think he hasn't got that defining fight under his belt yet and at 35 my be to late.

Like Pacs got Barrera or even Hoya or even Marquez under his belt
    Barrera's got Hamed etc
This list goes on when your talking about p4pders.

The move up to 135 and KO is is just as good if not more impressive than an old ODLH that has already accepted losing in favor of generating paydays. Getting up from 3 KD's vs Pac is not impressive to you? Manny has one moment and that was vs MAB and that is it. And last of all JMM is tied to the hip with Pac ..... Pac has strength that is the only thing that has kept him from losing to JMM twice. 4 punches that have released a flood gate of Nuthuggers. Take those 4 punches away and JMM has completely schooled him. A 3rd fight is warranted to silence both parties....

Marquez to me deserves everything he has achieved at this point of his career. I think he has tremendous skills and a huge heart. He has beaten good fighters throughout his career. The only part that I think he's being overrated is when everyone says he has Pacquiao's number. Come to think of it guys. They've fought for 24 rounds. I think 80% of those rounds has been fought in favor of Marquez's pace. Yet Marquez hasn't been able to dominate Pacquiao and win convingly despite this. It was both close. and sure the KD's helped Pac. But when you look at it in another perspective.. why were those fights that close despite the fact that it was JMM's pace? I mean he fought Pac better than Diaz and Casamayor. He was a ten more times better defensively. With that..questions should be raised why didn't he dominate Pacquiao. Why? Because of Pac's power, sturdy chin, improve boxing as he showed in the later rounds of the 2nd fight, and ability to adapt. We give Marquez the props for fighting back after Pac's shining moments. but those are actually few moments that he was facing adversity. While Pacquiao on the other hand, has faced more adversities and has yet to hit the canvass. and we seldom hear fans appreciating his heart on his fights with JMM. That I think is very much overlooked.

I've seen Pacquiao improve leaps and bounds. While I feel Marquez is on the decline. And when I rewatch the tapes of their battles, I think Pacquiao has learn more and has thrive more than Marquez. The credits I think almost went all to Marquez because he was the underdog and everyone expected Pac to finish him especially after the KD's. Nuthugging aside, IMO Pacquiao has Marquez number.
An empty can is always noisy.
