Should the Khan/Barrera fight have been called a no contest?

Imo no. It was called what it was called, khan was beating the guy anyway although the cut could have something to do with that to barrera's credit. I picked no cause when khan got Ko'ed no one gave a crap that he got caught with a right when he was already down by prescott, it was overlooked by the fact that khan lost and no one cared how. I didn't want to hear khan cry about that and not the punch that put him there in the first place so i also don't want to hear barrera crying about injustice either. Khan won most hate it but he did, he won't always though so just wait till he rushed into good comp which you know he and freddie will do. You'll get a chance to laugh again.

I see your point, but it's the reaction of the poress and Khan himself which piss us off, refusing to acknowledge that the heinous cut had an effect. It would have been a tough 12 rounds without it, which Khan may well have won, but to hear them say it was an easy blowout and 'proves' the doubters wrong is just way too much, there's just no class there.

Why do i get the feeling that if Khan was the one cut and wanted a rematch people would say he didn't deserve it and that he doesn't have the mentality of a champion and real champions persevere through cuts and hard times and that if he can't then he'll never be world class material and that even without the cut he would have lost to Barerra. But Barerra gets a free pass because A) he is Barerra and b) people don't want to accept that he would have lost to Khan clean without the cut. If you want to see De La Hoya vs CHavez II then thats fine, but i'd rather Barerra for his career if he has a loss to someone like Khan I'd rather it be in a situation like this rather then him losing one sidedly or stopped late. But if they rematch thats what you'll get, Barerra will lose and will lose in a worse fashion. And I love Barerra, but even I'm not blind to the fact that he couldn't do anything to Khan besides land one or two hard shots that Khan recovered from when hit with them flush.

Everyone was wondering what would happen when Barerra hit Khan on the chin. It happened. And Khan didn't panic, didn't get reckless or anything, he held or kept his composure and came back into the fight, he even withstood when Barerra was trying to go for broke and knock him out. So let me make something clear, if there is a rematch Barerra isn't gonna outbox him, his only chance is to knock him out and Khan seemed to have a good gameplan for whenever Barerra tried. If there is a rematch Khan would win in a more one sided fashion and you'll have people still not giving Khan credit instead saying that Barerra should have retired after the first fight

There needs to be A re-match,plain and simple,I know that Warren would love to add A veterans name like Barrera`s t o the resume of his young charge,..But not this way,I dont give A FUK what anybody says this fight is tainted because of that cut,and the fight should have been stopped in the first round by the Ref. or the doctor PERIOD!,....It is the main job of the Ref to look-out for the welfare of the fighter`s,If Barrera had caught another butt there it would have split his scalp right down the middle,....

The fact that the fight was allowed to go on to the fifth round,when Khan could be awarded the victory also tells me that something aint right.Personally I believe that the young Khan would beat Barrera maybe even worse in A seconfd fight.,.... At this point,Khan is too fast,too strong,too big and young for Barrera,and I agree with Warren that if Khan is what they believe,and have hyped him to be,....Well,he should be able to beat Barrera.,,,,But,...If you call yourself A Boxing fan you must know that Boxing is the most unpredictable of sports,and Barrera could have got dominated for 10 rds,then wind-up catching Khan in the 11th and KOing him,.....Or A Thousand other scenario`s?,......

Khan`s young carear is off to A tumultious start,....A KO stoppage from out of nowhere,to basically A nobody,to slow down the hype train,and know what is clearly A tainted victory over A Legend in the twilight of his Boxing carear.

BTW,Ilike Khan,last weekend was the first time I have seen him fight.Frankly,....cut aside I was impressed big time with this guy,Very strong at 135,....FUK!,...Really strong,fast too. I hope Warren does not over-protect this guy,he`s got real talent,and will make for some very exciteing fights in the future.

Barerra wanted to continue other then the fact he was a warrior he obviously must have felt the fight was within his grasp or that he'd win.

Thats why i said i dont understand why he said after the fight he thought they should have stopped it sooner when he was the one who elected to continue.

If the fighter says he is fine in terms of where a cut is the ringside physician can take it as just that especially with someone as experienced as Barerra. It was Barerra's choice to continue the fight. Then after the fight he probably said what he said so that he'd get a rematch.
