Whether she came from nothing to something isn't the point... it's the fact that she didn't work for it or acheive it.
Unfortunatly I know plenty of people with worse backgrounds than Jade Goody who worked to better themselves.

She entered a reality TV show. People were so captivated by her that on leaving the interest continued and in the process she amassed a fortune.
What is undeserving about that? Millions loved her entertainment. Millions loved what she was selling.
Did she not better herself?
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
That just says how she got what she got... not what SHE actually did for it. The media have nothing better to write about... big brother's producers fancy sticking a random charv on the show and she gets money because society is so sad that they obsess over her. That's some break to have 'earned'.
Max Clifford has managed to milk our obsession with watching metaphorical car crashes, love of looking down on 'lesser people' and love or 'pantomime villains' very well... that is a talent... Jade Goody has been lucky enough to have been taken along on that ride by him. Good for her... I'm not even knocking her, simply saying that it has been a case of EASY COME and unfortunately easy go.
You won't find somebody who agrees more. What's your point? I'm not attacking lower classes or even Jade Goody.
The whole point I am making is that it is easy come easy go. Here today gone tomorrow.
Adam there have been literally hundreds of reality tv stars created over the last 10 years, Jade was the only who managed to convert that into a succesful and lasting media career.
It was hardly easy come easy go. Think how many hundreds of people have been on just Big Brother in the UK over the past decade, a couple hundred I'd imagine. Then add in all the other reality shows.
How many of them went on to have succesful media careers and become millionaires like Jade?
It wasn't easy at all. I know people personally who have applied to get on Big Brother (and yes I think that is unbelievably sad!). But there are literally thousands of hopefuls every single year. Most of them are not even 'regular' people at all but already ambitious types signed up with modelling agencies, their own agents etc.
Jade literally was just a dental nurse, no agent, no modelling career, not particularly attractive, she was just a common chav.
Yet unlike virtually every single other reality star ever she made it, and she made it big.
There's nothing easy about it. It's no easier to become a millionaire celebrity via the reality tv route than it is to go via acting, football, modelling, singing etc. In fact those disciplines offer far more opportunities for a real career than appearing on a reality show ever could.
How many famous reality stars are created each year compared with footballers, actors, singers, bands etc?
If you think anyone could do it and that it didn't take hard work and a real talent for self promotion on her part why not just do it yourself and bag an easy fortune mate?
What Jade managed to achieve for herself literally out of nothing was incredible.
It's also worth noting that as a direct result of Jade's publicising her battle with cancer that literally thousands of woman around the country have been enquiring about getting cervical smear tests and even a committe has been set up to institute a new health care policy of bringing in smear tests for cervical cancer for the under 25's, something which is believed will save thousands of lives.
So this simple common girl will leave a lasting legacy and help prevent the early deaths of thousands of women in this country, ironically meaning she has done more for the betterment of mankind (well womankind) than all the other really talented people that you esteem above her.![]()
never minded Jade... hated Jack, her mum and that cunt who is her kids dad.
but Jade was OK... she had no talent and made millions, good for her i say and why not i'm sure i'd have done the same.
never seen her as a racist when the whole contry wanted to burn her at the stake... just ignorant, but still have most of that BB on sky plus
Shilpa and that Jackson guy where totally nasty as fuck when Jades Mother and Jack turned up in the BB house and thats what started the whole crap off.... but the Racist card stuck because alot of peeps hate Jade for being untalented and successful ((live by the sword, die by the sword))
R.I.P Jade.
Yeah I agree mate, I think the Shilpa incident didn't highlight hidden colour racism as much as it did hidden social racism.
Jade is mocked and the subject of abuse for being part of the lowest working class and not pretty whereas Shilpa was attractive and succesful.
The world is a shallow place and true discrimination is often blurred and distorted.
It's ironic that so many ordinary and common people would despise one of their own and moan about how little talent she had whereas the people we worship and adore as having 'real' talent are actually merely good at expoiting the masses desire for entertainment and pandering to those needs.
In all seriousness how is being brilliant with a football, or able to act, or swing a golf club a real talent? How does this advance society any more than Jade's reality show performances?
It's all about entertaining the masses, providing us with instant gratification and we will pay millions to such people and even adopt them as our hero's.
The truly talented people, doctors, builders, engineers, scientists etc are of no interest at all to most of the population evidenced by the fact that a premiership footballer will make more in a week than a top surgeon will make in a year.
Jade struck a blow for the common person and should be applauded for it.
funny stuff on this thread. Once a chav always a chav.
Jade was mocked for being the thickest of the thick regardless of social background.
It's unfortunate for her family esp. her kids but some clown on the tv was making out as if this was of bibilical significance
What she was able to do was work the media and OK/Hello reading leeches to get whatever cash she could for her kids. Fair play to that.
Saddo she was racist with her other model mate making ignorant comments made about Indians eating with their hands and implying they were dirty, and that all Indians are skinny and she called Shilpa "poppadom". Her mother was too ignorant to say Shilpa, two syllables, which Jermaine said to her. Lets not gloss over here because she is dead.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Kerry Katona was a member of Atomic Kitten one of Britiains most successful ever female pop bands, how is she just a reality tv star?
Paris Hilton is the world's most famous socialite, because she's the glitzy daughter of a billionaire, she's done reality tv (and porn) but that didn't make her a star, she was already famous.
Jodie Marsh is indeed a reality star, possibly the second most successful ever but she's nowhere as successful as Jade was.
As for just being lucky how do you account for her continued success? Please explain how she managed to have 4 best selling books and a best selling perfume range?
She clearly has a talent for something even if it is self promotion. If it was easy EVERYONE who had ever been on a reality show would have done it.
But where are Saskia and Maxwell, Spencer, Science, Pete, Leah, Ashylnee, Lisa and all the other hundreds of wannabes now? She made the most of her opportunity, given 15 minutes of fame she managed to turn into a lasting career.
Even Missy said fairplay to her for that.![]()
Bilbo, do you really care about this shit?![]()
As Fenster already said how did she not earn or work for it?
How different is she from Natasha Richardson really, both are performers who earned their money through playing a role.
And how do you define talent exactly?
Is the ability to kick a football around a field a real talent? Is the ability to beat someone up a real talent? What about the ability to roleplay somebody else?
Virtually all of the people we admire and look up to have talents that in reality don't equate to very much at all in terms of improving human society or bettering civilisation.
The ultimate acolades and plaudits these days go to entertainers, those people who do very well the things that entertain the masses, but yet in reality are completely and utterly pointless, so the ability to sing and look sexy on stage, the ability to play football, to box, to tell jokes, to act etc.
The most modern form of entertainment in 21st century Britain has been reality television, where 'ordinary' people get 15 minutes of fame.
Jade was just one of thousands of reality stars created over the past 10 years or so but unlike the rest of them she managed to capture the attention of the public, not just for 15 mins but from the moment she first appeared on our screens until her death.
Her book was a bestseller, amazingly her perfume range was a best seller, she turned herself into a million dollar plus brand name and even made stars of her family.
That IS talent. She has been more succesful than any other Big Brother contestent, probably in the world.
Not bad for someone who grew up with no qualifications, no prospects whatsoever and entirely the wrong uprbringing for success.
But to suggest she didn't earn her way is just ridiuclous.
Watched Ladettes to ladies last night the Aussie chick who won the crown said she was so impresed with Mrs Harcourts flower arranging that she has now taken up horticulture.
Mrs Harcourt didnt even crack a grin.
You know.."You can lead a whore to culture."
