    Default Arum is a disgrace to boxing

    Bob Arum who use to promote Lard ass Butterbean and charges PPV for fight cards that are headlined by bums like JCC Jr has some balls trash talking Arreola. At least Arreola gives the fans some action not like Jr. who puts you to sleep with his predictable style. LMAO! Well I'm glad that Goosen had this to say to Bobby;

    I'm no defender of Arum but he is right in critisizing the condition of Arreola and McCline. They were like whales marooned on a beach. Ugly stuff.

    The Wright: Williams fight was a good one though so he should keep quiet about that. I don't know why anybody wouldn't want to watch it.

    Miles - it may have been ugly, but do you prefer watching Klitschko v. Ibragimov or Valuev v. Holyfield or Chambers v. Peters? I don't.

    Forget pound-for-pound -- These guys are the most exciting - ESPN - Arreola listed as one of the most exciting fighters to watch (the only heavyweight on the list).

    Arreola is more interesting to watch than most of them others, for sure. My gripe is just that he looked so out of condition. He could be better with a bit of a trim off the waistline. All that wobbly stuff is worrying. Otherwise, he does throw punches and comes to fight, so not all bad. Just the weight issues for me.

    Agreed Wright/Williams was a quality bout between two top quality fighters, nothing to criticize,

    As for Arreola not much you can do about that but I cant give Chris too much credit for beating McCline, look at the shape Jameel was in, self admited he was retired and they offered him a decent payday that had a big reward and little risk

    JCC Jr might not be a world beater or anything, but when is he in a boring fight? it's not worth PPV, but he's by no means boring, Arum does start with stupid shit every once in a while, but to be honest he does more good than bad, he has a great eye for talent and when it comes to getting fights made 9 times out of 10 he goes all out to get them made

    I think Arum had a valid point with Arreola and McCline.Think hes more or less voicing frustration as American Heavys have been slim pickings last number of years.Maybe slims a bad choice.Not a fan of JCC jr but his last fight was pretty damn exciting.

    agree, not to sound completely negative, but the truth is American Heavies for the most part now are crap, and i think that it's due to more interest in other sports, such as football and basketball

    There is a point about how out of shame American HWs are, but his comments in general just showcase what a gigantic piece of shit, who is he to try play down Paul Williams & Winky Wright? Good on Goosen for telling it how it is

    This is not in defense of Arum for I generally consider promoters as a bunch of greedy pimps... Arum criticized Goosen promoted fights and we realized he has some good points and also just being an a$$ on some points...

    But to be fair, Arum has some of the best boxers around and promoted some of the great cards in recent memories... Just like this weekend's fight between Donaire-Martinez and Viloria-Solis, it's a very good card but unfortunately HBO and Shotime didn't pick it up... Arum once again, come out on his own and offer this card to the American public as a PPV priced at $24.95 using his own resources...

    Sometimes he's a "disgrace" and sometimes he does some good things for boxing...

    .
    i wouldn't say he's a disgrace, just at his age he does get a bit bitter at times, you gotta remember he is the founder of one of the oldest promotion companies to still be running, and younger guys like Goosen and GBP are making a lot of noise, plus a lot of Arums biggest names have either left him or retired, or both, such as Morales, Oscar De La Hoya, and Floyd Mayweather Jr., he still puts on great cards, and knows what fans want, and gotta give him credit for going out of his way most of the times to get the biggest fights made, DLH/Pacquiao and Pacquiao/Hatton are 2 good examples
