I'm sorry but I don't know where the evidence to show Froch has a 'granite chin' is coming from. Who has tested him to back up this statement? Yeah, the Pascal fight was a right old ding dong but I put that down to both fighters having shocking defenses and Pascal wasn't exactly a KO artist en route to facing Froch was he? I've seen Froch fight numerous times on TV since his 8th professional bout and on more than two occasions he's been rocked by blown up light middleweights - not exactly a case for a 'granite chin' in my opinion

It sounds like all the fanboys and casual UK observers are falling for the old promoter/trainer hype.

Froch makes me laugh. He's criticised other fighters for not taking/getting the big fights all his career and he's finally facing a genuine world class opponent at the ripe old age of 31. I'd like to throw my support behind a fellow Brit but I neither respect Froch as a person or like his style of fighting.

Further to my last. Froch is just another Witter - all showboat and posing but no defense and he too will be exposed everytime he steps up to world level.

Bad Intentions to win UD or a late KO.

    Taylor UD.

Its going to be a tough fight for Taylor as down the years Froch has always come across as one of those fighters that 'finds a way' imo. One of his strengths is adapting during fights and I don't think he's the type who will be overawed, although he's obviously never been in a situation like this before.

That said, Taylor has the talent and the experience to take the fight. He'll have to pace himself well and Froch isn't to be underestimated but I like Taylor at 168. I've got a feeling he's going to put on a bit of a show and hopefully set up a future fight with Kessler - Its OK to dream

I'm still coming to terms with UK TV debacle! It must be one of the worst fighter/promoter decisions in recent times to go down the online PPV route. If I were in their shoes I'd have given it away to the Beeb or ITV for free rather than this. I'd be suprised if 5,000 buy it! Such a shame.

Froch is going to get the beating of his life. It's going to be Calzaghe/Lacy all over again with the nationalities reversed. Well, it won't be that bad, but will be close to that than, say, Tim Bradley vs Junior Witter.

Taylor is going to tattoo Froch with right hands ALL NIGHT. That low left hand will be his downfall. He's not quick enough to pull that off against would class fighters. The Pascal fight showed that clearly. Taylor is every bit as fast as Pascal, and on top of that, he can punch. He's not the biggest puncher, but he hits harder than Pascal. At some point, Froch will either go into survival mode and start looking for one big punch, or Taylor will stop him. Taylor is coming Either way, he looses. I reckon Froch will win a few rounds and it may be a close fight for the first six rounds, but Taylor will eventually outclass him. This is such a huge step up for Froch it isn't funny.

this post just got me so pumped for the fight that i wish it was saturday already..

A lot of people discredit JT's power because of his KO %.. He's a TERRIBLE finisher, but he really does have the power to hurt anyone.. He slings those right hands, and his jab is a lazer.. As i posted previously, if his defense is as good as it was against Pavlik in their second fight, he will jab Froch's face off.. followed by those slinging right hands.. I've been let down by JT after the first Pavlik fight because he couldn't finish the KO, and his defense was so lackluster.. but his improvement was so visible that there is a lot of hope for him to be elite.. He just has to stay calm and not gas out, and be disciplined and patient with his defense.. everything else will unfold itself..

Right, JT's #1 problem in the right is that he is a hyper figher and that effects his ability to think clearly and use his brain to finish rather than just go all out and punch himself tired. I've said this before (and I'm a Pavlik fan) that if Taylor had Pavlik's instincts for finishing, Pavlik would have been a 2nd round KO victim. Taylor looked has looked much more relaxed with his old trainer back, he has fixed his own problem with a sloppy left .

Pavlik had faced much better competition when he faced Taylor than Froch as faced to this point. Pavlik had been down against a guy who could really punch, got off the canvas, and knocked him out later. I don't see a 31 year old, overprotected Carl Froch having the ability to recover once he gets in real trouble.

People want to knock Taylor's power, but look at what he did to Pavlik. Yeah, Ouma, who has an unreal chin, took his abuse for 12 rounds while being totally outclassed. Wright, Hopkins, and Spinks are all extremely gifted defensive fighers. Spinking is 10x quicker and more skillful than anybody Froch has faced. None of those guys are easy to hit flush.

Frock is hittable. Even fans admit that much. The only way Froch fans can justify favoring Froch in this one is by saying that Jermaine can't punch and won't be able to hurt mighty Carl. Carls best punch is the most easily countered in boxing. He's at a disadvantage in speed, skill, defense, and experience. If Froch has a power advantage it is minimal. So to pick Froch, you need to bet on Taylor having no chin, no heart, and no workrate. Those are the only chances for Carl to win - to hits harder, to works harder, or to wants it more. Those don't add up to the checks in JT's column.

Froch overprotected? Come on now, that's ridiculous.

He turned pro at 26. In the last year he's had Inkin pulling out of fights AND Taylor's own promoter admitting Froch is too dangerous for too little reward before he won the title.

He is now the CHAMPION going into Taylor's backyard. If not the fight doesn't happen. Guys like Taylor NEVER leave their comfort zone for anything.

Froch may well get outclassed and slaughtered - but lacking in balls he most certainly is NOT!!!

You can debate whether or not it's Froch's fault, but he just hasn't had a great class of competition. You can't blame him for Inkin pulling out, no, but it doesn't change the fact this this will be Froch's first world class opponent. With 4 years of pro boxing and 22 fights, Taylor fought Hopkins. Since then, he has fought Hopkins again, Pavlik twice, and Winky Wright. Forget about the welterweights and Jeff Lacy, that's world class competition.

Carl should insist this be shown on ITV1 at a peak time. In the long term he will make more money with this exposure.

There is nothing at all Carl can do though, he has to take it on the chin like all of us with the TV scandal. Its a complete joke, do ITV actually think I can last until 8 30 the next day to see the fight?!?!?!?!? I CERTAINLY CAN NOT ! i will pay money on a stream if I have to, I am not missing this fight !!! I know we will find a stream between us.

I am confident Carl is going to do this though, crunch time for Carl and he knows if he loses this fight thats it for him. That will be a large incentive to him and I know hes going to beat jermain

I see this fight as one of two extremes. Either Taylor destroys him in Mayweather Vs Gatti type style, or Froch destroys Taylor within 4 rounds.

    Exactly!

The only decent punch I think iv seen Froch take was that big wild overhand right that Reid landed, Frochs head was smacked back but Reid threw that so desperately I doubt there was any real clout on it and as for Pascal, look at his KO percentage then look who its against

I can see Froch getting caught and hurt then holding and making it a very ugly fight, if Taylor can get a nice sharp start hes going to make Froch look like the inexperienced old man he is
