Can any of the Khan fans honestly say that if it was Amir who got headbutted in round 1 and was bleeding like that , then the fight would have been allowed to go on to round 5 just so they could get a winner?
Ofcourse not. Barrera was therefore unfairly treated and deserves a return regardless whether or npt people wana see it. How they can assume than Khan would have stoppe dhim anayway based on what they say I cant undertand because Barrera didnt have the luxury of vision yet Khan still couldnt hurt him. Khan was the only one hurt in that fight. DONT FALL FOR THE KHAN HYPE. He could never beat Barrera
Well even before the headbutt we were seeing signs that khan was too fast for him.. I know it was a short time but it was enough. Maybe MAB would of adapted over time... who knows. We can't change what's happened, and we can't say MAB would of won had he not been cut, anyone who says otherwise are clearly fan boys and are a bit bitter over their hero being beat by a supposedly fake fighter.![]()
Why does Khan have to give him a rematch when he's getting ready to make a world title shot? Maybe after he beats Kotelnik he can consider it, if he doesn't have to fight a mandatory... but IMO any mid to top level figtht at 140 would be worth more to Khan than a second win over MAB, because thet's face it... if he beat MAB again, no cuts involved, he still wouldn't recieve credit.
agree with you on whats bolded, as for Khan being a proven fighter, well honestly in my eyes he hasn't done that yet, don't agree with the any other top 140 lbr be worth more to Khan over MAB cause honestly i say any REAL top 10 jr welter beats Khan
IMO Holt, Torres, Ortiz, and even Hatton, all stop Khan and pretty early
He does not deserve any credit he addmitted that Kotelnic was a cr*p champion now hes fighting him tell me what credit does he deserve. if the fight was the other way and he got the cut it would have been stoped before the fifth and we all know it and it would have been Khan demanding the rematch and MAB being the warrier he is would have given it. Khan is a hype machine waiting to be ko´d again and i cant wait![]()
It's sad really. The number of people that have bought into this Khan hype tripe. It was an extremely inconclusive fight because the whole event was tarnished by one of the worst injuries in recent memory.
It was not a meaningful result for Khan, it was a manufactured result born of very fortunate circumstances. He knows to high heaven he is damn lucky to have that scalp on his paltry resume.
The pictures on this thread are mildly amusing. Thinking Barrera is not shot and that Khan is a fraud waiting to be shown up is nothing all that outlandish though.![]()
Before the fight, I thought Barrera would struggle more with Khans speed rather than strength and size and to start with he did but after hed warmed up a bit he was having more success, the cut deffinitly didnt help Marco but id have loved to see how the fight unfolded with out it because I reckon Barrera would have come on big time, with Khan skirting the ropes.
I also cant understand why everyone keeps saying how they need to see Khan humiliated, he already has been, why doesnt he rematch Prescott to show how he has improved under Roach, infact, if ever that fight is mentioned, Roach would want no part of it for Khan, he knows Khan would bottle it and would get sparked again and would not want his name associated with it, whereas hes now seen as some special trainer because hes dragged Khan out the ashes and beaten a legend
I think Kotelnik is going to be too strong and well rounded for Amir, I think Amirs world champ dreams die here.
Hahahahahahahaha... it makes me laugh so hard when I read your fan boy posts. I bet you were in tears on fight night, weren't you? Then I bet you said you wanted to 'knock out' some poor old Khan fan, all because he beat your legend boo-hoo. I've added plenty of 'meaningful' posts on the subject, and all you manage to do is speak typical fan boy bullshit and cry your eyes out.. get over it, MAB had a good career.
Had the result been the other way round, Khan got nutted but wobbled Barrera, they let it go 5 and gave Barrera a win. Would there be calls for a rematch ? Ofcourse there would. It would be a massive controversy. A rematch wouldnt even be debated, it would just automatically happen so why isnt it happening in this case?
Thats the point we are making
The thing is.. how hard would it of been for MAB to simply say " I don't want to continue " or even his corner to do so.. it isn't 100% up to the referee or the doctor, it's just as important to the boxer and his corner. So I keep hearing " yeah but he's mexican... he would of gone on if both of his legs had been broken and his arm bit off". Well that's his fault then isn't it.. the referee (or was it the doctor?) had a long talk with him in the 3rd or 4th round and asked him if he wanted to continue, he said yes.. it's that simple.
Look at it this way, if you were about to get into a fight with someone twice as big as you, and your best friend is telling you not to fight, you shouldnt do it etc but you still do, then you get your ass handed to you.. then you cry to your friend " why did you let me fight![]()
"... this is same kinda situation. It isn't Khans fault. It isn't the referees fault. It's Marco's fault...
Disagree there . It IS 100% up to the referee! Since when did a fighter during a fight have the authority to make a medical decision? The referee takes advice from the doctor. Why was the cut fine in round 1 to continue for 12 rounds but in round 5 it suddenly bacame too bad?!
As for how hard would it be for Marco to quit . . . . . It would be very hard. He hasnt quit yet and he isnt gonna start against an overhyped chinny Brit.
The decision isnt Amirs fault but the reason I want to see him suffer is becuase of his attitude talking of how it was an easy fight as if it had nothing to do with the headbutt then denying Barrera a rematch. Shows he really is a Khunt.
Sorry about calling people twits BTW. That wasn't very nice of me.![]()
Totally agree with all that.
It is beyond me how it wasn't stopped sooner. Fights have been stopped for FAR less than that. The cut was the same at the end of the first as it was in the fifth. The officiating was truly random and a disgrace.
I don't see how Barrera can be blamed. He is fighter and not a politician. Of course he would carry on until his eyes fell out. But that isn't really the point here as we know.
