What if your son decided to box?

I saw Mar's picture (his sig) with his children wearing boxing gloves and playing around and we were talking about it a few minutes ago. I started wondering, how would you feel if your son told you he wanted to start boxing? How would you feel to see him punch and get punched in the ring? Back flat on the mat, bruised face, etc. Would you encourage or discourage?
