I always have a litthe thought for my GrandDad and my great uncle who did take part of it, both came back alive, my grand Dad was a supply airplane co-pilot so he hasn't been too affected mentally, my great uncle fought in the trenches and had grenade splinters located close to his heart, he never talked about his experiences except to a young version of nameless before he died, guess that the innocence of a young boy passionated about the WWII history and consequently, who was interested in his life did play a part in it.

Agree, a lot of my family fought in different aspects of the war, & I think we do too little to honour the sacrifices made by those in WWII.

RIP to all those who fell at Normandy, & endless respect for them & those who came back alive.

To think we JUST made a World War II memorial in Washington DC in 2004. We owe these brave veterans a lot, we owe all our veterans from all wars, but World War II veterans especially.
