''He will not cower,he will not cry,for to be called a cur he would rather die. A cur and a fighter are not the same. A cur is a quitter, but a fighter is game''
Erm... ever heard of 'No Mas'??![]()
lol thats right remember the golota 1 also macall kind of quit in with lewis but that was not cause of the beating a think
''He will not cower,he will not cry,for to be called a cur he would rather die. A cur and a fighter are not the same. A cur is a quitter, but a fighter is game''
Nonito's older brother Glenn Donaire. Darchinyan broke his jaw. He waved his hand just like Ortiz did.
just watched the no mas on you tube there forgot all about that 1 it was pretty bad did he talk about why he quit after the fight
''He will not cower,he will not cry,for to be called a cur he would rather die. A cur and a fighter are not the same. A cur is a quitter, but a fighter is game''
I remember when Benitez suffered some kind of broken leg after a flash knockdown against Davey Moore. The referee was waving the fight to continue but Benitez kept looking at the ref and pointing to his leg, so the ref finally had to wave it off. Now that's not exactly saying fuck it, but it wasn't just the ref calling it either.
As for no mas, yeah, that's about the only one that comes to mind where a guy says "fuck it" for no apparent reason at all, no knockdown, nothing. That was a big fight too. Seems to me there was some issue about whether Duran would get paid, I can't remember how that turned out.
so called Macho warrior? are you trying to imply that just cause of this fight Duran of all people was not a warrior? if so, well buddy you got some studying to do. Leonard chose to do the smart thing in the rematch, which was box, and i applaude him for that, but who got the best of it when it was a war? oh yea Duran was the one to get his hand raised, and how many other wars did he go on to have, plenty
back to the main subject, Golota also quit against a stoned Mike Tyson, Freitas quit against Corrales, both fights in the middle of the round
Yeah, I remember the cramps story coming from the Duran cramp some time after the fight, that might be part of it, more likely that the man he totally despised got inside his head in a way he couldn't deal with. But Duran gets a benefit of the doubt that few other boxers would. At the time I was not at all pleased with how this unfolded, but now I don't really care one way or another.
