this is getting ridiculous already, i'm seriously starting to get a bit numb to the whole thing honestly, the man still had the tools to be one of the best at 154, and i have said it time and time before, that i thought Forrest could beat Kirkland, now we'll never get to know

    RIP Forrest

RIP to a real underrated fighter. He was a 2 weight champ & beat some real quality names, although his two convincing decisions over Mosley are what stick in the mind for most. He seemed to lack the motivation at times to beat the 'weaker' fighters like Mayorga (he won the 2nd fight) or Mora, but still he had a career that was on a similar plane IMO to the likes Kostya Tszyu. He will be sorely missed & one of my personal favourites of this decade, in the way Gatti was to others.

    RIP Champ

    Confirmed

I am speechless and disheartened.. The tragedies that have ripped a giant hole in this sport lately are painful to say the least, youngblood brought up a point last month about people die everyday, but when you look at what alot of these fighters have given us its hard not to make a point of mentioning it or feel grief and even make sort of a big deal

Unbelievable. Another fighter taken away at a tragically young age.

Forrest was a quality fighter, he will be missed.

Jesus, tragedy strikes again, this has been a really rough year for boxing. R.I.P Vernon Forrest.....extremely talented fighter, got some bad break screwed his shoulder up, never got to fight De la Hoya or Trinidad or Vargas, I would have liked to see all of those.

R.I.P. Vernon. I'm really getting tired of saying those 3 words; starting to become the most overused words in boxing. I'd rather argue about a fighter, and get a little bad blood with some of you guys, than stand hand in hand with all of you wishing peace to another one taken too soon. Sh#t is getting old.

Saddo....you should make a section dedicated in itself to fallen fighters. I'm still sleep hazy so I'm just rambling. 1st thing I hear is my girlfriend saying Vernon is dead.

Well there is no denying there is currently an anomaly happening, with an unusual amount of well-known boxers dying in violent and unnatural circumstances. I think it is variance that just happens to be hitting close to home for us as boxing fans. Has little to do with them being boxers, and just that, an anomaly. And yes, it does suck.

RIP Vernon and condolences to family and friends.
