From what I heard there was only a verbal agreement, but no contract signed. Although I believe Cotto is being screwed enough already, he should not let the belt determine whether Manny will take the fight or not. This fight is very important for Cotto because if he wins, he guarantees another big payday and the right to fight Mayweather before anyone else. In addition, winning the fight will get respect back from many in boxing who see Cotto as "damaged goods." If Cotto's ability to absorb Margarito's punishment with probably loaded gloves and fighting Clottey with one eye doesn't get him respect already, then I don't know what will, even a win against Manny. This fight is too important for Cotto to risk for such a bogus (WBO-gus) belt anyway.

LOL, we at saddoboxing.com react to every rumor during negotiations like its truth revealed from on high by Zab Judah, does this not scream negotiating ploy to anybody, its what you do when you want to get your way, you use leverage, leverage in this case being Manny's team saying they can always make a fight with Shane if things don't work. And that is even if the rumor is remotely true which given the professionalism of the article in general is questionable.

Reading Miles postings is interesting to say the least. He wants to see Manny knocked out brutally for his 'grotesque' demands, frankly that's a bizarre point of view.

Manny is one of the best things to happen for boxing in a long long time. He's arguably the most exciting fighter of his generation, a very humble, dignified multiple world champ with a huge fighting heart and we should feel privaleged to see this little little big man go for history with a record breaking seventh world title win.

But Miles is once again letting his hatred of fanyboy posters warp his increasingly bitter mind.

Manny is making negotiations over weight because he's come to the very extremes of his weight limits. He has already moved through and won world titles in 6 weight classes, equalling the all time world record. He's now going for a record seventh, never in history done before.

All the other greats who won 6 world titles at 6 weights also had catchweights and negotioted hard, or in the case of Roy Jones handpicked the weakest heavyweight champ in recent history but Manny is wanting to fight the very best.

To Miles, if you think his demands are so grotesque, what other 6 weight world champ when challening for his seventh weight class was a more easy negotiator than Manny is being?

what is your proof? aside from the delahoya fight this is the only time they are asking for a catchweight in fighting a much bigger fighter. you are just pissed that morales cant convince pac to fight at 135. you and miles and some other haters cant just accept pac's accomplishments. who cares about his fans. they are not the topic here, pac is.

I agree saddo was unlucky because he did actually have a world of knowledge outside of manny pacquiao and nate donaire, but if the guy was indeed warned about this and still carried on to do so then his ban is indeed justified
