Firstly, Godric. A great new character I can see he's going to be awesome. We are similar in many ways actually. Both young looking, (although some might point out he is actually also 'good' looking) I don't have his physical skills and powers but just like him I am very pale, share an aversion to sunlight and sleep during the day so I can definitely say we have a sense of kindred spirit shared.

Anyway, he is a modern day vampire Messianic Christ like figure it seems, all forgiving, non violent seeking civilise the vampires so that them and humankind can peacefully coexist.

Bolloks! Sorry but I don't buy this for a second. Either he's been reprogrammed somehow by the Sun Fellowship or is anti vampire, or else this is part of some evil scheme and he will turn out to be very very bad indeed, I just don't buy the 'good guy' act at all.

Also if he's so peaceful and non violent, why did he snap the neck of the guy who tried to rape Sookie? He killed him, and it seemed to me he killed him for reasons other than him raping Sookie. There was something going on between those two and the rest of the Sun Fellowship we don't yet know I'm sure of it.

So Godric will turn out to be bad, very very bad indeed on the level of Maryanne in my opinion.

Talking of Maryanne she is going from strength to strength, I'm really please with the depths of evil the show are allowing her to descend.

I didn't think Tara and her bf would eat the human heart pie, I thought deceny on the part of American broadcasting standards would intervene and something would stop them from becoming cannibals.

So I was pleasantly suprised that the show's producers were willing to take the risk and have a major character break a major human taboo, a first for a televsion series I think, to have a heroine, good character be violated to such a degree. The domestic violence follow up was great too, this a show that isn't afraid to push the bounderies, much like Dexter, another classic show.

Back to Maryanne, I'd like to know just how much control she exercises over her brainwashed followers. Is she controlling everything they do directly, or does she just flood their emotions with feelings of sexual lust, rage, etc and then that person just goes out of control and acts entirely out of their most primal instincts and passions? I'm guessing a bit of both.

Now on to Jessica. she's proving to be one of the most interesting characters to me now, it's a great idea to have her dealing with both her sexual and adult awakening and also adapting to being a vampire at the same time. She's certainly the vampire with whom the viewer can feel the most compassion and empathy and I love that she wears her heart on her sleeve so much, and is refreshingly open. In many ways she the most transparent character, there are no secrets, hidden emotions, whereas every other character is a mystery to us even now, Jessica I think is the character most like the audience, trying to make sense of everything too and just coming to terms with everything that is going on.

I did find the regrowing hymen amusing and endearing. That would be a huge problem and embarrasment to any young girl, especially if you had to live with it for every sexual encounter.

There are plusses though. Firstly of course it's great news for Hoyt. It means if she wants to avoid bloodshed every time they go at it she will have to start letting him fuck her in the ass so win win for him.

Secondly as if a hot teen vampire wouldn't be golddust enough in the porn industry already, having an eternal hymen tearing, virgin vamp girl would surely be a pedo's dream and she could go on to have a great career.

Sticking with Jessica, one thing that puzzles me is that she seems to have little if no emotional attachment to Bill, her maker. Seeing the hold a maker can have over their 'child' surely she would be infatuated with Bill, wanting him sexually and insanely jealous of Sookie?

If an adult God fearing man of exceptional high moral values such as Bill Compton could be so seduced by the power of his maker that he would happily engage in killing and torturing humans with her surely Jessica throwing herself at Bill at all time, frigging herself in front of him every time he walked into her room and trying to blow him every chance she got.....or maybe that's just how I'd envision I'd like it to be?

But still, I definitely think she would be insanely jealous of Sookie and would deeply desire Bill, instead of being totally disinterested as she appears.

Finally one thing puzzled about the end of the episode. That drunken guy under the influence of Maryanne had apparently commited sodomy with a pineapple tree. I though sodomy related to homosexual sex and I'm a bit miffed as to how you can bugger a pineapple tree, something which doesn't even have an anus?

Anyway I'll continue to think on that, at least when I'm not thinking about Bill tearing open young Jessica's hymen and forcing Sookie to drink the sanguine flow from the young teen girl's 'well of desire'...
i can't read all of that, but i did read the part about jessica should be somewhat attached to bill, and i'd like to use the example of bill and his maker.. he was never in love with her (as he said) and now hates her for the stuff she made him do. I assume it would depend on the situation. Bill turned Jessica into a vampire because of a punishment, she didn't want it, and Bill was turned into a vampire because lorena attacked him and took him from his family which he was sad about.. even though he went on those killing sprees he said in later episodes that he "tried" but wasn't in love with her.. but Eric on the other hand, was given "eternal life" from Godric, and as he was probably going to die, he was grateful for what Godric did for him. So, i assume that it has to do with the circumstances in order for how strong the bond could become.

Godric is the best character, next to Eric.. "i am older than your Jesus, I wish we could've met, but i missed him." was the best line.. and when he said he could snap lorena into a twig anddd when he told eric he could've killed the entire Fellowship wtihin minutes.. the guy is the man..

i wouldn't really say he's some sort of Jesus, though.. I mean, the guy was obviously killing humans most of his life, but as he has aged he has seen a lot, and now he has the power to try to make vampires lives better. Obviously when he snapped the rapist's neck he will kill if someone does something wrong, but it seems as though he wants to prevent violence as much as possible.. can't wait for next weeks episode.
