He is untested imo, unless he fought with a different crowd this time with eyes not chinky and shouting his opponents name, i will not put him up high.

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
He one of the best fighter in any division imo. He doesnt get the recognition because he has never fought outside Japan. I would love to see him fight Agbeko, Montiel, or Perez. He will probably keep fighting top rated guys, but I doubt another champion will want to try and unify over in Japan.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
Hozumi Hasegawa, the boxer, from my flawed view, desultory at best, looks pretty good and special to me. Nice defense, with power on both fists to deliver KO. In fights, ever on the lookout for the abbreviated end and places high value to the economy of movement, two undeniably basic ingredients for massive fan appreciation.
What I'd like to witness though, is for his chin to undergo better testing. Hard to gauge a fighter's excellence, or better yet, his true worth, with but just a few low resolution, youtube videos.
Hope he comes out of shelter from the cozy confines of his mom country, and take a stab at wetting his gloves stateside.
This will truly be the lithmus test, when the impediment can potentially administer equal damage as well as he can, and the fight as officiated, with not the least interest for an unpopular abruption.
More from him in the future, is surely a great treat for all levels of fandom in boxing!
The same way we've missed out on great potential matchups before we'll miss them here.
