When did he fight Vivian Harris?? I dont want to argue mate, but again it was the mannor of defeat against Pac, he is not a knockout artist. Hattons chin looked like jelly.

It was a 2round mauling, he got caught hard early on and never recovered. He didnt take a dela hoya type complete hammering where he didnt land effectively once all night. He didnt look like someone who had lost any speed, strength etc and he sure as hell had never been caught that hard and often by anyone he had ever been in with. Just in with a far superior opponent who had worked out hattons one dimensional game plan to a tee.

In a sport such us boxing early ends will always happen. Its what makes this sport the greatest in the world because from first bell to last it can end at any moment. Ricky should fight on, not for the fans nor his ego but because even at 30/31 he still is more than capable of a few vintage performances like what he produced against malignaggi
But let's not forget that Paulie has no punch and hasn't stopped an opponent since 1764. Hatton was able to use his quick feet to get in close and show no respect while doing so. In a few recent fights now Hatton has been stopped or else wobbly. Mayweather, Lazcano, Pacquiao, heck even Collazo who isn't a big puncher had him in some trouble. Hattons chin does seem to be wavering.

Part of me would like one more fight to say farewell, but I would have him nowhere near any big punchers again. Not after being flat out for several minutes last time out. Nobody is ever out for that long in a major fight. It was worrying.

Paulie doesnt have it in him to knockout anyone of any reasonable standard thats been conclusively proved.

But what has also been shown in his fights with cotto and diaz is that he is an extremely awkward opponent to get to grips with and to date only hatton has managed to completely expose and dominate him over 12rounds (TKO in the 11th)

Hatton isnt the great great fighter of the 21st century, thats been conclusively proven. But for anyone to claim that by watching 6minutes of boxing they can say he is past his sell by date is madness.

Pacquiao would of done the same thing to the same hatton that fought kostya tszyu. Im the biggest hatton nut on this site and even i can accept that!!
