Skel, in a head to head matchup fine, I'll let you have your way...but in the WORLD CUP you've got no better chance than we do...and that's what I posted.

Im not to sure about that, these are the current odds for the world cup:
England are currently 6/1
USA are currently 66/1.
we can beat anybody in the tournament and that's not like Henry Bruseles could beat Floyd Mayweather, we really could, and I mean better teams than England, but its just we can't do it consistently enough to get anywhere serious. I'd take getting to the knockout stages.
we can also obviously lose to just about anybody in the tournament. It would help to be in an easier group than last time.
Well with Davies out we've got to replace a starting striker and hopefully we can do that without using the names Ching or Casey.
I think right now you give Freddy Adu a shot to be the man at striker, sure he's small, but he's quick, and can score and he's worked with Altidore before.
If not Adu then I would like Kenny Cooper to get a shot because he's big and he can score on set peices.
And if you're Eddie Johnson you better get your ass in gear and get in shape because he could get a second chance and if he ever lived up to his potential then he could really help us out.
FYI as long as Frank Lampard is playing for England you guys won't win anything

I didnt say we are going to win it , my point was you said you have as much chance as England to win it. Which is obviously not the case as these odds suggest.
Scrap we comfortably beat them 2-0 about a year ago, but friendlys i dont count im not sure if we have ever played them in a competitve game?
....even more bad news, Oguchi Onyewu tore his patelar tendon vs Costa Rica

I must admit after 35 years of living I no longer get excited about our chances in the world Cup.
England's world cups are as predictable as Fedorer winning Wimbledon, we will go out in either the quarters or semi's in a penalty shootout or else a controversial last minute goal from our opponents.
The only real debate is which players will miss the critical penalties this time around. I'll go with John Terry and Lampard.
When have we ever slaughtered USA at soccer, cant remember ??.
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

no, I know, wasn't worried about qualifying, should have said it hurts our chances of getting out of group play.
