The nail was hit perfectly on the head, Haye is in a very different stage of his career. Plus, what more can he do to impress people? He unified a division, then moved up a weight and began calling out the best fighters in that weight. He's now beaten one of them and only has 2 left to beat. You cannot argue with what he is doing. He is making a name for himself (although often goes about it by running his mouth)

Plus the Valuev fight, Holyfield did the same approach, just not as good and got a pat on the back for a good effort. Haye did it and won, but gets no credit.

Mayweather took a similar approach against Marquez (similar not the same) but gets labeled as the best ever. Counter punching and in out tactics were the olny way to beat a guy like that
This post got me wondering. What is the biggest HW PPV in history? Is it Lewis-Tyson?

My mate tells me Klitschko-Ibraghimov did 6million PPV sales stateside

    Thank you Lyle.

Yeah Haye Valuev is a much milder version though. Some people were actually being bored to death rather than just sleep in Wlad-Ibragimov!

dude Lyle give it a rest, i can't stand Haye yet i'm not even bitching about the dude as much as you do, people can't deny that the dude can talk shit with the best of them, making him a popular fighter, he's getting plenty of attention on a international level, does that mean he's a great fighter? no, but he is still getting buzz from fans

on a flipside, people can't really bash the Klitschko's either seeing how Vitali Vs Arreola got a good amount of attention, and that's pretty rare feat in itself for a HW title fight nowadays, but yea i don't think that Haye/Valuev or Pacquiao/Cotto are the only fights to bring boxing back to the mainstream, i go more with Cutmemick, DLH/Mayweather was everywhere leading up to the fight, same goes for Mayweather/Marquez, you were hearing bout piss drinking everywhere leading up to the fight lol

OK, I guess you have free reign to compare David Haye to Jesus if you like fellas, have fun with all that.

You motherfuckers are getting on my last nerve "Oh Lyle stop it, I'm tired of everytime someone wants to legitimately compare David Haye to the second coming of Mike Tyson or Jack Dempsey you have to go and try to correct them! GOD Lyle that gets so annoying what with you trying to base your arguments in reality...why don't you just give it a rest already"....why don't you guys grow the fuck up?

Have fun worshipping David Haye, I will vow right GOD DAMN now not to post anything about him even if I am specifically asked, that's how fed up I am with all of your bullshit.....I will not mention him until after only either Wlad or Vitali have beaten him, not if Ruiz beats him, not if he wins the Nobel Peace Prize, not if he cures cancer, only if Wlad or Vitali beats him, and I'll throw this in there only if they stop him in the fight, decisions don't count and when that day comes you guys are going to hate life because I'll hound every last fucking one of you about YOUR BOY losing until your eyes bleed.

I believe the most buys for a heavyweight fight came in the Tyson vs Holyfield 2 fight 10 or so years ago.

Not only was it one of the most popular fights ever, it was also the one where he bit Holyfields ear off. Watched by about 2m people!

I think Lewis Tyson is next, then Tyson vs Holyfield 1.

Oddly, Tyson vs Mcneeley comes in next. Yeah, Tyson vs ? He knocked him out in about 2 minutes, I even remember watching it. It was so big because it was tysons return to the ring after going in jail.
