Why would Ward need to intentionally butt a fighter he was beating in literally every aspect of the game?

By the way I don't know why he butted him, maybe to make sure he had every advantage going? The ref seemed to miss every one, somehow.
Kessler just laid there on the inside and let Ward tee off. You can't rely on the ref to come in and break a clinch up just because you don't want to fight on the inside. Kessler was doing the majority of the holding early and that established him as the culprit in the refs eyes.
I'm a huge Kessler fan, but he lost that fight fairly.
Was a joke ref but it wouldnt matter Kessler was outclassed tonight, Just destroyed from the first minute.
kessler looked like the one-dimensional stiff robot that he is.
Calzaghe was a puzzle Kessler could´nt solveand dam it Ward used the same pieces again.
What I saw was a Kessler that could not handle WARD, with or without headbutts I was impressed with ward.
An I hope we wont hear a lot of excurses from Kessler this time, it was just not his night.
I dont see Kessler win a rematch either, since he dont seem to have learn from the Calzaghe fight I doubt he will be able to do it this time either.
someone like chad dawson would've done MUCH better than Kessler did.
dawson actually knows how to in-fight and counter with shots that PBF would raise an eyebrow at.
kessler is so goddamn overrated.
I also rate Tarver as a pundit very good and I think he made a valid point, I think Kessler under estimated Ward a great deal, I dont think he expected that at all. Would it of made a difference no but I still think Kessler thought he wouls show up and beat the less experienced guy.
post fight interview was along the lines of
he held me, the ref didnt stop him from holding me, he headbutted me on purpose, ref was a hometown ref, he called him something like 'home judge-referee'
