I see where you are coming from. It was not an enjoyable fight to watch and was full of the most blatant types of spoiling possible. It made me laugh when Ward said "I'm not a dirty fighter". Sorry, young chap but you are! In fact you are a very dirty fighter and not very subtle either.
The referee was far too leniant and should have cut it all out much sooner. By the time he started taking any notice Kessler had been butted yet again and been bear hugged for about the 100th time.
It's a shame so many of these super six fights appear to be allowing fighters to dive in waist first and hold on to the area just above the opponents groin or else just dive on to the floor in an effort not to be hit. There needs to be more action taken against fighters who spoil the flow of fights by holding or butting excessively.
Ward did alright, but I can't help but feel Kessler didn't do all his homework. The commentators mentioned that he used no southpaw sparring partners at all. That is a big NO NO right there. Hopefully Kessler can come back and show us what he is able to do, because he just wasn't quite there today.

I thought Ward would win so this isn't a big surprise to me, but I agree that Ward fought a very Hopkinsesque style. He held at every chance possible. Kessler just couldn't adjust. He didn't know how to handle it. Funny thing is this is probably great for Froch because Froch may be able to come into their fight with a psychological advantage. Did Kessler's right hand ever reach Ward's chin?
