Props to galaxy for being the only other person pretty much to see that Roy Jones was in deep for this fight.

And guys you should listen to me more, all the bandwagon jumpers who leap onto overratted guys like Bute, Donaire, Mijares etc and then completely dismiss tough guys like Green and Kelly Pavlik, you need to listen to ol'Bilbo.

Green is now very much a part of light heavyweight, maybe even cruiserweight scene and he will prove himself to be a very acomplished performer indeed. He has real power, a solid chin and is a solid pro who just gets on with the job.

Nice one Bilbo, i said in another thread I thought Green could come out and completely shock Jones, Jones took him too lightly and was getting arrogant over recent wins.

Now all the RJJ fans are making excuses and saying if Green fought him 5 years ago blah blah.

I like Jones but no one made him take the fight, and he got beaten , end of story the history books will show him as a legend and ATG, they will also show last night as a loss.

My opinion hasn't changed about Danny Green, he caught RJJ with a glancing shot that had him on queer street. I don't really know what happened there, but RJJ was caught cold. Then RJJ just covered up and got stopped. RJJ's punch resistance is ridiculously bad now.

But props to Danny Green for winning, i think i was just hoping RJJ would go out on a win. And maybe i underestimated Danny Green, but i still think he would lose to most of the elite Light Heavyweights.

But since Chad Dawson is looking for a fight, i think Chad Dawson vs Danny Green makes sense. Or Danny Green vs Tavoris Cloud that would be a war.

Lastly my boy Lucian Bute would beat your boy Danny Green and handily IMO, if they ever meet. I think you underestimate Lucian Bute, he hasn't got great names on his resume. But he has beaten some solid fighters, and some tough fighters who had never been stopped.

And considering he isn't in the Super Six tournament, who else really is there for him to fight ? infact i would of put him in there instead of Jermain Taylor.

what the hell is ur issue with donaire and mijares? mijares in particular had more skill in his left pinky than 10,000 danny green's put together.

Hmm so much skill yet Mijares was totally dominated and beaten down by a fighter with supposedly very little skill in Vic Darchinyan, and then followed it up with another loss to some part time yak herder, TWICE!

My point is this. There are some people on this forum who rate skills and flashiness above all else and think that if someone is slick he is world class. Well it's simply not the case, skills and athleticism are just one single aspect that go to make up a boxer. As I've said before, casual fans tend to overate those with power, loving the big punching guys like Tyson and thinking he is the best ever.

Well more serious fans often make the same mistake, but in overating skills. They see a fighter put together some flashy combinations and see him as the best thing ever.

Both are wrong. A boxer's truth worth is made up from all of his different attributes.

first off vic ruined mijares. vic is a good fighter btw. i guess you don't like his herky-jerky brawling style? well it's effective and he complements it with devastating power.

and Mijares had both substance and style. mijares was handing out boxing lessons to everybody he was fighting. his technical skills were all there for everybody to see. he's one of the better technicians i've seen this decade.

btw, Tyson is rated highly for his technical skills and athleticism, not necessarily power. he's as closest to duran as a Heavyweight ever got(while Riddick Bowe resembled Toney), though he was nowhere near as great.

lol why the hate for Danny Green? He's been underated for years and has finally made the world take notice of him.

It's a shame its happened so late in his career, but he's a very solid fighter.

I can tell you nobody hits harder at 175 and even at cruiser he will be a big hitter.

Never down, never close to being stopped, he's going to be a tough fight for anybody.

Sure Mundine beat him at 168 a few years ago but he's moved on from then, and is now fighting at his proper weight.

You guys should be pleased. The light heavyweight and cruiser divisions have been completely devoid of talent for the last couple years, with Haye and Adamek leaving the cruiserweight division and Dawson having no worthy opposition to face at all, as proved by the fact he's been forced to fight two old former champs two times each!

Danny back, at least makes things interesting, He'll be good to watch against any of Dawson, the winner of Diaconu Pascal, Cunningham, Huck or Erdei.

Him and Erdei is pretty likely fight to happen imo.

Aside from Dawson I think against all the others Green has a great chance. Even Dawson would have his chin tested at least.

I think some are going a bit overboard on Green's win. It was a freak fight and Green is 36 years old. He isn't going to be making all that many waves on the back of this. I would back Green to beat Jeff Lacy, but that is as far as I will go.
