I have a hard time picturing someone getting all roided out, getting the adrenalin pumping for 40 minutes and then saying in a perfectly calm voice "I'm just doing my job, it's nothing personal". I would imagine something more like a tyson "He ain't no Alexander, I'm Alexander PRAISE BE TO ALLAH" in response to a "was this the fastest KO you've ever had?" question.

Roid Rage can also be a misconception towards how someone just truly is. Did Mark Mcguire ever act like a raving lunatic? He seemed to be one of the most level guys in the world but he was juicing. Sometimes people that use roids aren't so aggressive in front of the camera, moreso it happens at home.

Yeah, roid rage is actually not a good measure. My cousin has been on steroids for many of years and I have yet to see this guy raise his voice. He just looks like a killer and benches almost 500 pounds. And look at Mosley, one of the calmest guys in the business. Proven steroid user.

I have been in and around the boxing gym since I was a child. For many years I knew of no one taking anything illegal. I also have been around weights, steroids, and users of steroids for about the last 10-12 years. I personally know of 2 steroids that are undetectable. 1 of them is common in the gym I workout at. That one is not exactly a rarity in the boxing gym either even to amateurs boxers. Supplements and PEDs are much more common in the boxing world than people who are doing it right really know or want it to be true. You can't go by test at all. Tests are relatively easy to beat even if your on a detectable steroid. The people who test positive were either completely ignorant to how easy it is to get away or just got snitched on. Knowing what I know now, most users will never get caught so I just don't even try to speculate anymore. Its going to be here and probably gradually get worse.

It's sad to hear that. I think it'll eventually ruin the sport.

I like to believe that Pac doesn't roid, although as you said, it wouldn't surprise me at all. It's been in the back of my mind since the Cotto fight.

My point is that it is much more likely to happen when you are put in a primal state with adrenalin flowing rather than sitting on a bench or standing in some grass.

Exactly, we just don't know and will probably never know. Unless another Balco like situation comes. Getting caught by tests is a shot in the dark.

A. We assume every success full athlete is roiding until the issue died down

or

B. We assume everyone is innocent until the tests comes up positive

so which one is fair IYO?

I think you have to assume its possible any and every successful athlete is roiding, its the real world, doesn't mean anyone should be punished if they haven't tested positive and/or have overwhelming circumstantial evidence against them.

But its silly to think somebody just CAN'T be doing it cause they're a nice guy, they seem honest, you're a big fan, etc., etc.
