love the way you yanks sarcastically put the guy who`s been in with ednar cherry above the very man who has twice fought for the title of best p4p title in the world.
Its not lost on me....
Hatton beats every single one of those guys....if neccesary 2 at a time!!
one dangerous horrible bloke
really turnin out to be one boxing mostt skilled divisions lot of youth there and vets. very deep division turnin out to be one of my favs
And was twice KTFO, last time out at 140, in 2 rounds. I suppose that's of no bearing when determining where he ranks in his division though? The only fighter anywhere close to p4p that Hatton ever beat was Tsyzu, YEARS ago. Would it be as ludicrous to rank David Haye above say, Larry Holmes, should he make a return to the ring? I'd definetly pick Bradley over Hatton at this point in time, and that's without even accounting for the likehood of Hatton being impacted by the layoff and dropping so much weight. Also, I know it was a typo, but it's cracking me up how you wrote Hatton fought for the title of best p4p "title". That was his illusion exactly.
lets get this right...
ricky hatton has beaten...
Kostya Tszyu
Jose Luis Castillo
ricky hatton has fought...
floyd mayweather jnr
manny pacquiao
Timothy Bradley has beaten........
....................
...................
timothy bradley has fought......
.........................

Your kind of cementing my arguement here bud. You point to Hatton's biggest wins, and fail to factor in the most recent being 3 years ago? Are you taking into account his two biggest fights both being losses, occuring AFTER his biggest wins?
What the hell does his past glory have to do with where he should be ranked currently? Of course his resume trumps Bradleys, and he WAS a better fighter, to say they are currently headed in opposite directions is a bit of an understatement though.
In the last 2 years Hatton rebounded after the Floyd loss by looking extremely shaky at home at being in big trouble against Juan Lazcano, then he bounced back with a good win against a perfect stylistic matchup for him in Powderpuff, then was completely annhialated in 2 rounds against Pacman, and has since balooned up as much as he ever has, and contemplated retirement several times. We don't even know if he's ever going to fight again as it stands.. Bradley on the other hand is improving vastly and looked sensational against a very good fighter who proved his worth in Peterson. I think Bradley has the dynamics to beat Hatton clearly at present, and to imply that it's somehow Nationalistic for other's to share that view is fairly sad imo.
I can't believe your regarding Hattons win over Castillo as a big one.
Everyone knows that Castillo was shot against Hatton.
The best wins on Hattons resumes are Tszyu (past his prime), Collazo, Malignaggi and i suppose Urango is a decent win also.
So out of 47 fights, Hatton only has four names worth mentioning on his resume.
Bradley has had 26 fights and holds wins over Junior Witter ( somone Hatton ducked), Kendall Holt and Lamont Peterson. Thats a solid resume considering he is only 26.
let me guess this right
Castillo fought hatton the night he suddenly became past his prime
Tszyu fought hatton the night he suddenly became past his prime
Hatton ducked witter...was offered millions to fight in the US, offered hundreds of thousands to fight witter in the UK
kendall holt and lamont peterson are far better fighters than what hattons ever been in with.........and beat
Jesus christ, shall we just stick ricky in with zelenoff and have done with it while were at it??
one dangerous horrible bloke
The point is we are talking about now. What has Hatton done in the last 3 years to suggest he is still the best 140 pounder in the world? Im convinced Bradley would do better against Pac and PBF than Ricky did (couldnt do much worse). Bradleys style would have given Tszyu problems as well, and thats coming from a Kostya fan.
Mate you are seriosuly deluded at times:
First off did you miss the Castillo v Ngoudjo fight? Castillos first fight at 140 and he looked awful he lost that fight on my scorecard then two fights after the Hatton fight he lost to fucking Sebastian Lujan ffs and since then hasnt beat anyone close to world class id actully say his level of opponent are just a notch up form fighting the likes of Kid Thunder, Castillo win was against a shot version of the great fighter.
Now Hatton went to America so basically your saying Hatton didnt duck Witter he went to America? Well Hatton v Witter has been on the cards since 2000, and for some reason Hatton thought it would be better to fight the likes of Steven Smith and Ray Olivera.
Hatton should of fought Witter rite after he beat Jason Rowland or anytime after that up until he fought Eamon Mcgee but he didnt I wonder why?? Warren did not fancy the job one bit and I can see why, so the America excuse is a load of rubbish mate.
Wow, well since we're talking about you addiction to Hatton instead of the thread topic...................
Castillo was known to be in serious decline prior to the Hatton fight when he got a gift against Ngoudjo.
The Tszyu fight will always be a source of controversy, I give Hatton credit for making Tszyu quit, but come on that was four and a half years ago.
Let's compare them for the last 2 years shall we?
2008
Hatton
W corner retirement - over Malignaggi
W UD - over Lazcano
Bradley
W SD - Witter
W UD Cherry
2009
Hatton
L KO - Pacquiao
Bradley
W UD - Holt
NC - Campbell (ahead on the cards at time of stoppage)
W UD - Peterson
So in 2008 Hatton DID have a better resume than Bradley, but when you add in 2009 Bradley has had more success than a mile. As for the other things you talked about it's ancient history man, no way a fight from more than 24 months ago effects today's rankings.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
p4p lists are built on opinion, it's not an actual sanctioning body or title dipshit lol hence the reasoning no one can fight for a "p4p title", it's as ludicrous as the WBC's "Diamond Belt"
funny how after Floyd stomped that ass Ricky was all of a sudden too small for welter, and even funnier how when Pacquiao put him into a coma after 2 rounds Ricky's "past caught up to him"
Castillo already showed signs of decline when he barely beat Ngoudjo
Herman Ngoudjo is a decent fighter NOW, when Castillo got past him he wasn't anywhere close to what he is now, and lacked experience big time, since then he lost to Hatton and Lujan, are you seriously trying to imply that Sebastian Lujan is a world beater cause he has a win over Castillo?
Hatton beat a game Tszyu....in a fight where the ref let him do whatever the fuck he pleased and not even get a warning
Hatton could have easily made way more money fighting Witter in England than fighting the likes of Malignaggi in Vegas
and anyone who doesn't think that Holt and Peterson are more well rounded and talented fighters than Castillo (at the point he fought Hatton) and Urango (who was beaten even worse by Berto) is pretty much blind
Don't be stupid.
Castillo had been in many wars, It was long before Hatton that he was regarded past it, He struggled to beat average Ngoudjo just before the Hatton fight.
Tszyu was a good win for Hatton. Hatton's best performance in his career.
Tszyu was no longer in his prime but was still a very good fighter.
A Hatton - Witter fight would of been huge in the U.K. They had major hate towards each other and were both champs in their weight class.
When it came down to an actual fight though, Hatton would make excuses like "why would i want to give Witter a payday" when thats just bullshit. They had there differences, it's a shame Hatton didn't want to settle them in a ring.
I don't like Witter but just admit it, Hatton didn't want none.
Holt and Peterson are good fighters. When you consider Bradley has only had 26 fights, his resume is solid. Who had Hatton fought worth mentioning after 26 fights ? Jon Thaxton ?![]()
Hatton did fight Pacquiao and Mayweather but the thing is he lost so why does two knockout losses count for something on Hattons resume ?
