He has the experience to either outbox Lopez or knock him out. I'm sorry for being so honest, but I'm a big boxing fan, and I've been watching boxing since I was a little boy, and trust me there is no way in hell Lopez could win that fight, I bet my house on it. Lopez is a kid that just started in the professional boxing business 5 years ago , who had an amateur record of 126 fights with 24 defeats, while Gamboa only lost twice in 250 fights. I'm not saying that Lopez is not a good fighter because he is, but he doesnt compare to Gamboa, and that's the truth. Gamboa just became a professional back in 2007, but he has been in the boxing business way longer than that, and has been in more fights than Lopez.
First, welcome to the board!

You may very well be right about Lopez being way over-matched by Gamboa, but to say any Boxer can't lose against any opponent that has power, makes me wonder what kind of boxing you could have been watching all these years. Remember Tyson vs Douglas, or Lennox vs Rahman I? And IMO there was a much greater disparity in ability between those fighters than between Gamboa and Juanma.

Then add in that both Gamboa and Juanma will be thinking about the their outcomes against their common opponent. This could cut both ways: Gamboa's confidence could rise; while Juanma could find it impossible to quell the doubts that might creep in. Then Gamboa will in all likelihood KO Juanma. Or Gamboa could become overconfident, and revert back to his "I can just blow anybody out of the water and damn the torpedoes style". If that happens, Lopez does have the ability to catch Gamboa, just as several much lesser opponents have, but with a more dire outcome for Gamboa than what happened in those other fights.
