After the Mayweather/Pac fallout who is really excited about Pac/Clottey?

My main question is, knowing how often Clottey has missed 147 and the fact he comes in fight night so heavy. Why isn't Pacquiao doing the "each pound over 10million dollars" thing he tried with Floyd? Floyd is staying true to what he wanted and is asking Mosley to take drug tests which Shane has accepted. Floyd ultimately comes out of this looking better then pac. Pacquiao ducks out of a fight with Mayweather over a drug test and fights Clottey. Floyd bides his time, waits for the opportunity and makes a fight the fans want to see.

The idiocy of Bob Arum is that he was in such a rush to make Pacquiao a fight to try to make Floyd look bad, now because they weren't business smart like Floyd was they fight Clottey while Mayweather fights Mosley in a fight EVERYONE has been claiming for, for a long long time now. So in the end it makes Pacquiao look like less of a somebody then Mayweather is. Mayweather leaves one superfight and makes another. Pacquiao leaves one superfight and makes an HBO boxing after dark Main event that's gonna be on ppv.

That final paragraph sums it up very nicely. Pac/Clottey is nothing but a huge anti-climax after the temptation of Mayweather/Pac.

This is way too true. That is just the problem. Pac's overly zealous fans are going to be there. But Pac gets unfair obvious bias protection from journalists who twist things and leave facts out to favor Pac. And this is what has turned a lot of fans and would-have-been Pac fans away.

I think rather than being critical thinking journalists, we are getting propagandists who are trying to put their own slant on things. They should be trying to cover all the angles and providing a fuller picture, but they are not. In this sense, they really arent fulfilling their obligations as professional journalists. Its a shame.

It's been like a political race in here concerning Mayweather/Pacquiao match-up fiasco with each candidates supporters. 80%-90% of it was a big turn off. There are still writers out there using the controversy to get reader hits. I've stopped looking at 99% of them directly.

Many of my causal boxing friends like watching Pacquiao's fights because he's exciting to watch. My wife and her friends watch Pacquiao and don't even know who the opponent are. She might show some vague intrest if I'm watching a good fight but usually doesn't care if there is no social effect.

They tend to feed off the vibes I give as a boxing fan and intuitively know if I'm excited or not. I get excited with any good match-up and while I had hope for Pac/Mayweather, it didn't and I've moved on.

My wife a non-boxing fan, can't even remember the dates when big fights are going to happen and I have to remind her that I'm watching. Her dad, a true boxing fan at 96 years of age knew who was fighting last night even though he couldn't watch. As the fights draw closer I get more excited and I don't see Pacquiao / Clottey any different especially being that Clottey is much bigger.

Cotto dropped him with a jab because he was off-balanced, but I've never seen him hurt.
