I think guys with the drawing power of Pac and Mayweather they could get around 700,000 fighting B level fighters almost everytime. So I think 700,000 is not necessarily successful but more like the number they must at least garner. I don't think anyone would expect that Pac/Clottey is going to do less than that figure. So that figure is really the starting point. I think its feasible for Pac/ Clottey to get to 1 million. Pac has a strong following and as long as he is fighting a live opponent then he should be good on the PPV buys. So for success of this fight I think 850,000+ is a good figure. And I think it will reach it.
Dela Hoya-Mayorga only did 600K+
I would say DelaHoya is more popular than Pac and Mayorga is more known than Clottey.
600K is already a success.
As irrelevant as this fight was De la Hoya/Mayorga did 935,000 PPV buys. Top Pay Per View Events in Boxing History

I don't know really if I had to have money on how well it will do id say around 800k.

I couldn't care less, but I would tell everyone here not to buy it.
Vote with the pocket and buy newly clean top level boxing like Shane Mosley against Mayweather instead. That is the way forward.

I would consider 400,000 - 500,000 a modest success. It's a bit of a let-down of a fight and Clottey isn't that well known. If it has a strong undercard I could see it doing very well.

I'd say 700k and up would be successful.
Of course if it were to do something like 250k I would just laugh my ass off and that Pac's team fukked up again. That was the number Pac-David Diaz did.

If the Pacquiao-Clottey fight only does 250k, then I would say that Mayweather is right when he said that his fight with Pacquiao is not going to be a 50/50. It should be 60/40 in Manny's favor. Oh, that's not what Floyd meant by that? Alright, Floyd gets the bigger share.

How many buys did Pacquiao - Diaz do?
