Apples and oranges.
1 thing I know for sure is that you're not going to become HW champion just by taking up boxing for a few months have 3 fights and then become HW champ. See Brock Lesnar as an example in MMA. You're not going to beat the Klit brothers or Haye with a few months of training.
Then the pay disparity is huge. Joe Louis was making 600k fighting Billy Conn in the 1940s which is more than what 99% of the stars in the UFC are making right now today.
And notice MMA can attract the washed up boxers like Mercer, Toney, Mayorga, no A-list or B-list boxer is going to fight for a few grand when they can make millions. Just take a look at Amir Khan (b-list boxer) who most people don't know in America and he's going to get a guarantee 1 million fighting Malinaggi on HBO.
My 2 cents.
my point exactly
some of the guys over here fighting on friday fight night are earning more than the biggest UFC matchup you could possibly imagine. Every single UFC division is made up of 1-2 good fighters with records of 24-3 and then a whole load of 14-12 fighters. In boxing that just doesnt happen because the level of competition is so muh more denser.
You could feasibly walk into UFC and within 1year with the right promoting could be world champion. Again doesnt happen in boxing even if you win olympic gold it`ll be at least 4years before your even fighting for a world title.
Anyone that punches someone who isnt trained to take a punch can look world class whether its UFC or ice hockey. Doesnt mean they have the physical capabilitys of a boxer
if ricky hatton is allowed to take off his gloves and physically throw floyd mayweather around a ring yes it will enhance his chances of beating a boxer. But it doesnt make him the superior athlete it just means he has been trained to perform more combatic actions!!
