i totally agree with Chino! mayweather jr. has bent over backwards for this fight to happen. it is pacquiao who doesn't seem to want this fight. and as far as someone saying pacquiao never ducked anybody? who the hell are they talking about? he's been ducking the best dangerous fighters on the planet ever since he beat barrera. first of all, he ducked joan guzman when guzman was still a super bantamweight. guzman even agreed to go up to pacquiao's weight class (super feather) but pacquiao kept his mouth shut. then when pacquiao got an absolute gift decision verses marquez and marquez wanted an immediate rematch, pacquiao ran from him and went up to lightweight. when marquez decided to go up to lightweight, what did pacquiao do, he went up in weight again. pacquiao knows he lost to marquez that's why he wanted no part in a third marquez fight. more recently, mosley wanted to fight pacquiao at 140 and pacquiao wouldn't even talk to him. instead, he went for the ultra conservative joshua clottey, who by the way, is an embarrassment to all the great ghana fighters who are truly warriors. and now, pacquiao never really wanted this fight with floyd jr. in the first place. he made those three demands thinking that mayweather jr. wasn't going to agree to them. then when floyd jr. made his lone demand, (blood testing) it was pacquiao's perfect moment to bail out of the fight. simple as that!

I'm not going to go as far to say or agree that Pac has been ducking fighters out of fear. But he has done his share of picking and choosing just as most fighters have in their careers. Pac doesn't pick fights with slick boxers and this is well known. He feasts on guys who are easy to find and have little chance to outbox him. And no matter what Pac apologists say...Pac absolutely avoided Mosley. Mosley agreed to everything Team Pac asked for. They even tried to shoo Mosley away with the "You have to make 143" catchweight. Mosley agreed, went to Roach's gym and still got denied. But I am not mad at any fighter picking and choosing every now and then. Its a hurt sport and business must still be maximized. Pac only does this every now and then so this is easily respectable to me. Just about every fighter has done this. Some just do it more than what can be overlooked.

Put it this way. If Pacquiao had fought and defeated Mosley, the cry would be he fought an 38 year old Shane who was on his last legs and inactive. The new crying point would be he avoided Miguel Cotto a prime fighter.

You know it and I know it. Half to a majority of this forum picked Miguel Cotto to KO Pac, after the fight it was Cotto was a shot fighter that Pacquiao cherry picked. Get the fukk outta here with that bullshit.

It's true, Pacquiao does not need Mayweather. We all want to see it happen of course and it should when Mayweather beats Mosley. I don't think it will bother Pacman if it doesn't happen as his legacy is well assured.
Pacquiao has fought the best out there in recent years, from a rematch with Marquez (his toughest foe?) to De La Hoya, Hatton and Cotto stopping all three of the latter. Now tell me honestly, if anyone here thought 3 years ago that Pacquiao would KO all 3 of those guys then we would have had you certified. Pac will fight the winner of Mayweather V Mosley, it's the only fight left for him.

Its a shame you get too emotional over my statements about Pac. I'm not a nuthugger so I will state what is factual. You're making guesses about how people "would've" reacted if this or that "would've" happened. I stated facts. Those facts still remain. So does this question. Why did Roach state all these demands for Mosley, like he was really going to fight, if there was no intention to fight Mosley? Because they hoped Mosley would turn down the demands. They saw how damaged Cotto looked against Clottey and how dangerous Mosley looked against Margarito. Be real man, he cherrypicked. Mosley called their bluff. It happened. Don't excuse facts with bogus guessing.

And I am sticking by facts. These are hard facts.

Like I said, you and half this forum picked Cotto by victory, now he's a shot fighter that Pacquiao cherry picked? Do you know what cherry picking means? It means that he's selectively picked an easy opponent that he can win.

That's the poll right there isn't it? Now you're changing your tune? How come you didn't mention Cotto was a shot fighter and Pacquiao was cherry picking when you chose Cotto in that poll?

Calm your emotions a little bit. I didn't say Cotto was a shot fighter. Freddie Roach is the one who insinuated this when they watched the Cotto/Clottey fight. And for the record, I said Cotto is damaged from the Margarito fight. Do you really think Cotto didn't lose anything from the Margarito battering (By the way, I voted Cotto because of the catchweight title on the line bullcrap and it was unknown how Pac could handle a real welter) Roach even said Cotto is not the same fighter since the Margarito fight. I'm sure you read that too. At least admit that you read Roach say that. And admit Cotto after Clottey looked a lot better of an option than Mosley after Margarito. They waited and got what they wanted. Cotto looked way more beatable than Mosley. Therefore, they chose Cotto over Mosley. A name as big but quite a bit of an easier road. Either was a good enough selection for me but thats still cherrypicking. It happens, boxing is a business, and most fighters do it. Don't excuse Pac. Its obvious to you but you're just focusing on Cotto instead of why they played that song with Mosley and then refused to dance with him. Mosley went on many interviews, even on ESPN, calling Pac out. Freddie Roach responded with demands Mosley "had" to refuse. The 65/35 split, the 143 catchweight, the weight penalty, etc. Mosley went to Roach's gym and accepted all of the demands. Freddie Roach tried to save face by calling Mosley desperate and then turned completely away from a Mosley fight. If they weren't going to fight him anyway why play the song? To give off the image as if they were willing. What kind of backlash would PBF had gotten from you if he did the exact same thing to Mosley?

Even if he chooses to fight slick fighters like chris john or guzman, pac would easily beat them. I don't know why some posters think pac is avoiding guz. Guz lost to funeka. Funeka exposed guz so what do you think pac would do to him when they meet?

And this may or may not be true. But remember styles make fights and not every style is an easy figure for greats like Pac. For instance, B level fighters Junior "Poison" Jones and Zahir Raheem are 3-1 against Hall of Fame greats Marcos Antonio Barerra and Erik Morales. And Raheem/Morales was a boxing lesson. They didn't figure out slick fighters very well. It would've have been nice to see how Pac would've done against Zahir Raheem, or any boxer who moves well, after Raheem just made easy work out of Morales but instead he chose to fight the loser of that fight in Morales. And lets not forget Paul Williams having trouble with movers as well, Quintana and Martinez.
