Maidana will never see half a mill again. He'd be an idiot to turn that down. All this 65 - 35% stuff only really works if anyone even knows who the opponent is. Maidana might be dangerous, but nobody outside of the hardcores know him, and he doesn't sell tickets. That's a great offer for him.
Not sure mate for the Paulie one I would think quite similar to the deal on the table with Maidana, Khan is on a contract with Golden Boy for at least 7 figure pay for every fight and I think HBO would probably put the Khan v Maidana on about par with the Paulie fight in terms of money offered to host the fight.

I would guess Kotelnik who was champ would be even less who knows I will try and do some digging.
Not 100% sure but I think Paulie made about $650,000. Kotelnik I have no idea. Con doesn't necessarily need Madiana. He just needs a puncher period. Someone who can crack. To show everybody he can take a punch. Ever since the near death experience against Prescott he's fought nothing but hand picked opponents.

They where hand picked on power long before Prescot mate....Prescot was his only dabble in the ring with a high % puncher and he failed bigtime.

its a shame really because i think if he had a chin he could be something special.

Agreed. Maidana is the ideal opponent for him because of his popularity, but he's by no means the only opponent for Khan.

Is there a more popular puncher at 140?

He's probably the only real 'puncher' at 140, but i wouldn't say he's a popular fighter. He might be fairly popular on here, but i wouldn't say he's that popular with anyone outside the hardcores.

How about Joan Guzman vs Amir Khan ? or even Kaizer Mabuza who upset Kendall Holt earlier in the year.

Guzma vs Khan would be great imo.

Never seen Mabuza fight, but you'd have to be really shit to have a win over Kendall Holt to be seen as an 'upset'.

I think this fight WILL happen and I think Khan will be way too good too. I have been really impressed with Khan since the Prescott fight and I think he is probably the best 140lbs fighter on the planet and that includes Bradley too (although Judah still has me thinking).
