I think people overlook the fact that Khan gets hit waaay to much. He's honestly a very good offensive fighter, definitely his best asset and he even boxes pretty well behind the jab but if you are going to box like that, you can't get hit that much. He gets hit a lot and it's been throughout his whole career that it's been that way. He just isn't that good defensively and I think his defense is a bigger flaw then his chin.People make him seem like Mayweather with a fragile chin, he gets hit a lot. That and the chin don't make a good combo, especially for someone who is at times reckless in his attack in the ring.

If he fights Bradley, it won't be 1 punch that ices him, he will get tagged cleanly and consistently and might not even go down. He'll be lauded for his toughness but he will have eaten to many shots. It won't be the chin, it'll be the defense that fails.

Have you seen him since the Prescott fight?

In his last four - Barrera, Kotelnik, Salita, Powderpuff - they've hardly landed a glove on him. Powderpuff might have caught him a few times but that's understandable considering he could take more chances.

I agree with Fenbot. The thing is, Khan has been heavily scrutinised since he turned pro with every fight being billed as the main event, so everytime he's been hit, it's pretty much been highlighted.

Since he fought Prescott he hasn't really taken many. Kotelnik hardly landed a glove on him and we should all now know Kotelnik is a very capable fighter. Not elite, but very good, Salita never got anywhere near him, Barrera didn't really land (i know he had vision issues). Only Paulie really landed anything and even that was nothing major. Besides he was clearly less bothered about Paulie's power so took more risks.

Not saying his defence is great, because it isn't. Just think it's been quite good since he's been with Freddie.

If you see how much Kotelnik was hitting Devon Alexander, you'll see that Khans defence can't be all that bad.

That's a case of styles make fights though. Alexander couldn't play keep away all night behind the jab because that's not his style of fight. I think in hindsight, Kotelnik is his best performance but I still have trouble seeing him fight that way all the time because his instincts seem to tell him to do differently. I don't think he's going to control fights behind his jab especially if someone out there focuses on neutralizing that. The defense has improved simply because he has been smarter offensively. I just don't believe that will last.

Barrera fight shouldn't even count, he was outgunned but it's a myth that he hardly laid a glove on him. He landed solidly a few times before he was blinded. Salita obviously was just blown out and Malignaggi did land and he landed really early. You could say it was a matter of 'taking chances' because he knew Malignaggi was a powderpuff he got marked up regardless.

I'm sorry I'm not sold, those guys aren't the top in the division besides Kotelnik, who is more of a clever defensive type then a really good offensive fighter. Maidana will probably be able to be kept at bay with the jab but if we're going to compare him to Terry Norris (and say he could 'easily' achieve what he did) then lets actually see him tested! We know his flaws, lets see if he can work through them.

Barrera, Kotelnik, Salita and Malignaggi, NONE of those guys were going to KO Khan anyways. Let's see him tested before we go completely fucken overboard. Unless we want to say that Bradley could 'easily' become as great as Aaron Pryor or Andre Ward could 'easily' be as great as BHop.

Schaefer: Khan-Maidana Nearly Finalized For Las Vegas - Boxing News

Looks like the deal is almost finalized. According to Schaeffer the fight will have a 90% chance of happening. It looks like the fight will be at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas on 12/11.

I said Khan could "easily" be regarded as a Terry Norris type fighter (world-class, P4P for his time) as opposed to a genuine great like Sugar Ray Leonard.

Generalbulldog's Norris comparison clearly meant a fighter that is talented, world-class but chinny - compared with a worldwide famous legend like SRL or Oscar, it was a good one.

Nobody is going overboard, for sure Bradley would start favourite against Khan, Maidana may very well spark him and plenty of other fighters out there may beat him, but he has serious talent and serious potential.

Whatever you think about his defense, i'll bet anything with you, Khan will be knocked spark out before you ever see him getting outboxed taking a beating.

According to Khan on his twitter page, the fight has been signed by both parties.

As Mills Lane would say, "Let's get it on!"
