Good point re the finish in the Castillo vs Corrales fight.

It's a shame that a fighter from each fight had such a tragic ending to their life.

They were both great fights, obviously, but I think Castillo - Corrales just edges it for me.

If we forget about who's fighting and what level then I go for Gatti-Ward. But when you take into consideration the level Corrales - Castillo were fighting at in those days you have to be amazed at that fight. Not taking anything from Gatti or Ward but they weren't on the same level as the other 2!

Obviously both fights were amazing, but Gatti-Ward can only possibly rival the other one in terms of entertainment. Corrales and Castillo were, respectively, fighting on a higher level as far as talent and ability(though neither were QUITE elite fighters either imo). The last round and incredible finish puts Corrales-Castillo ahead even from the most casual observers perspective, and the fact that both guys were top operators putting it all out make it a no brainer really. Gatti-Ward has to be dampered by the fact that either guy was a sitting duck for a real world class boxer on that night, and the rematch where Gatti basically outboxed Ward the whole way through sort of drills that home for me.

I agree completely with P4P and me too, Ono. Favorite fight ever and I have literally watched it about 50 times I used to watch it every night before I went to bed back when I had no cable lol.

Yea really, and for Corrales to die on the same day the fight happened years later just blocks away from the building where it happened...sad still.
