I would want Pacquiao to go after what I think everyone will agree to as the greatest challenge (other than Mayweather) in the winner of Martinez/Williams. It would be nice for him to assume the role of an underdog once more for the victory will be sweeter. If he loses, I don't believe that it will damage his reputation one bit. It would just mean that he has reached his limit.

Even a really hard fought out loss to the likes of a Martinez at 154 will add large amounts of credit to his legacy... More so than destroying someone coming up from 140 or even an A Grade 140 pound fighter...

That is where I find the contrast between a Pac vs Mayweather legacy... It's as much about the wins on their record, as the challenges and steps up they made into dangerous territory.... successful or not....
To have a few zero's on your record means you've pushed yourself to the absolute limit of your ability....

i agree but it would be sweet if he manages to win all of his remaining fights.

Haha didn't read that post by Neutral but I basically said the same thing.... A fighter pushing towards his limits deserves a huge amount of credit... More than carefully picking out your wins...

    This.
And I do not want him to retire while on a winning streak because then we would not know what his limit would be. But that is just being selfish on my part. He deserves to retire anytime soon after having gone through all those wars.

Pacquiao has no business fighting at 154!

The notion of the catchweight fight at 150 with Margo is obtuse... with its undeniable hint of gimmickry as it is being sold disguised as a championship fight for a junior middleweight crown. Pacquiao, if so been taken in to severe lunacy agree to fighting natural junior middleweights, will be beholden with the rock that will sink his ship.

There is a huge disparity between Margarito and Williams in stature... in a picture circulated a few winks ago showed Margarito being 5'11", still easily dwarfed by the much taller than a 6'2" Paul Williams. How much more would the disparity be, if it was Manny Pac versus PW in that sort of picture... it will be laughable. This kind of fight will not cement Pacquiao's legacy, but it will, his lunacy!

Would it not be insane indeed to even think that it will be a thing of beauty, or a thing of interest to witness this kind of a matchup... Maybe yes, if roadkill has a place for great match-ups! Pac is the deer in headlights... of course!

I guess if there is one individual who is less than tactful to wish for these mismatches to happen... Pac vs the Goliaths of the square ring, it is but the "Quiet One", Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The result, a Pac win or a loss, is not even remotely the target of interest, the interest here by Floyd Jr. however, is the amount of damage that the little guy Pacquiao will sustain after this kind of an encounter.

Win or lose, factor the disadvantaged situation he will be in all these fight scenarios, it is not a stretch to conclude that there indeed will be a level of damage that the PacMan will have to absorb.

One can think of so many segue ways, so many angles for profit that the "Quiet One" will be enabled to spin thereof, regardless of the outcome these bouts will have brought... one thing guaranteed though, it will be spun, woven, and weaved to make himself coming out smelling like a singular fresh, white rose!

Purity of intentions! The martyrdom has concluded, and the savior of the sport has come about! Eveyone now rise and bow for the "Quiet One". LOL!

It will not be hard therefore, to fathom or view that these fight scenarios as mentioned above, will potentially be used as a buffer or a rectifyer of some sort, in order to address nagging questions that until now has been left unanswered... why, the greatest "duck" of all!

We don't know that yet. Let's judge his performance on his upcoming fight first.

If he KOs Marg inside 6, then we may see at 154 next year.
