I think it's down to Froch not being a great self promoter maybe. There isn't anything about his personality that really resonates good or bad.

When you look at some of our more popular fighters, they had divisive or strong personalities, and people WANT to see them either win big or get smashed up.

Look at Amir Khan and Audley Harrison, both figures with a lot of hate. Ricky Hatton had his grating man of the people act that many people adored and he was a popular personality, as were Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank before them.

Joe Calzaghe meanwhile was never really a massive household name until he smashed up Jeff Lacy about 24 years into his world title reign. He didn't have the abrasive or controversial personality of the others to make him famous for a long long time.

Froch is like that. An ordinary white boy. Fighters need some colour, in every sense, to make people care about them one way or the other imo.

He will only get start to get a big name if he wins the Super Six.

Needs color How many great fighters are out there right now that are white? not too many. In my opinion there needs to be more white fighters that are household names.
