The trouble for Manny is that aside from Floyd, there aren't really any challengers out there for him.

Berto, argue some, is not ready, Mosley according to the hardcore is done. Marquez is fighting two weight classes below and guys like Martinez and Williams are simply far too big to be realistic fights.

I'd most of all like him to fight Andre Berto if he can't get Floyd next. Or Timothy Bradley. Those two guys are young, unbeaten fighters and would make for exciting fights.

I still don't think he will get credit for fighting either from those on here who hate him, but they represent the best opposition from a competitive fight point of view imo.

Whether they make the most sense financially though I don't know.
Yeah that's the whole problem.. F'kn Arum knows he only has his cash cow for the next 3 years max and he wants maximum $$ for his efforts... Which will mean, if his plans go ahead, Pac will be remembered for being on the edge of complete super stardom and because one single man in Floyd wouldn't come to the table, he fought a bunch of meaningless fights for the money.....

Just stupid...

Whether you would use the word "protected" or not, do we really think Arum would put Pac up against someone like Bradley or Berto, who may not bring in as much PPV? Well f'k that, I believe they will bring in the same or more than a Pac v Margarito/Cotto II.....

Arum has his head up his ass thinking of his tiny little stable of 4 fighters as the be all and end all of the universe... Guess what, Jaws 4 was a bad idea, just because one time people watched the first bit, doesn't just mean you do it all over again to make the money...
But if money is all he cares about, fine, try to convince us all that Pac vs Cotto is as interesting to the rest of the world as it obviously is in Arum's head...

Promoters ruining boxing.... It is just a slight step below Judges ruining boxing.. And a step up from Refs ruining boxing....

Either way, give Pac his three years of legacy.... Not 3 years of lining Arum's pockets fighting meaningless fights...

Even as a fan, I think this sh!t stinks..... I won't agree with the word "Fraud" that mascara used.. Pac is still the best fighter going around and an ATG... But for f'k sake he's been around long enough and is at the top of the sport to the point he can dictate weights for other fighters and for their title belts,,,, then he can surely tell a big fat prick like Arum that he wants to fight someone who may pose a challenge and something new and interesting to face, for the love of god damn boxing for one.....

So I agree with everyone else people have said...
I don't blame Arum or Manny for not fighting the likes of Berto and Bradley just yet. Right now he can make more money against more established names in fights that will probably sell more on PPV.

The onus is on guys like Berto and Bradley to win breakout fights that put them into the mainstream.

A boxers career is only a brief one and every fighter wants to maximise his earning potential.

I'm pleased that Shane will maybe get another last big payday, he's been a great boxing servant and deserves to go out with some big fights. I also thought he beat Mora by at least a couple rounds, as did the entire HBO team. And say you want about Mosley's stamina being shot, but he was all heart against Mora in the championship rounds, taking the fight to the bigger guy and he should have won that fight.

As much malinged as Mora is, I don't think he is an easy night's work for a smaller fighter coming up either.

I think he would give a decent (albiet rather ugly and negative) account of himself against virtually anybody from 154 down. He's hard to look good against, and I don't see even guys like Floyd or Manny blowing him out.

Mosley picked a rather stupid opponent to look good against in his comeback fight, and was then very unlucky with the judging imo.

A Mosley Pacquaio fight is far from a bad matchup.
