The worst part about this fight happening is that we have to endure Haye's trash-talking for the next 5 months.

It's puzzling to me that people on this forum are so high on Haye when his best win is over Mormeck or Valuev. It just seems a bit odd. I guess people must see a lot of potential greatness in him. Haye Fans - What is it about Haye that impresses you?

I hope people give Wlad credit when he beats Haye. I have nothing against Haye. I just haven't seen much of him to be very impressed about. It's good that we finally have a big heavyweight fight to look forward to. Credit to both fighters for making it happen becaue it is good for boxing. Now, if only Manny and Floyd would follow suit.

    The beginnings of Haye's trash-talking:

I have been chasing this fight since day one, because I know boxing styles and I know which styles I have success against,” said Haye. “Klitschko is ready-made for me. I eat tall, chinny Eastern European heavyweights for breakfast. Wladimir is a fighter that doesn’t like to fight, and he has admitted that fact in the past. Unfortunately for him, I am a fighter that loves nothing more than fighting.
“I have the heart of lion, whereas Wladimir has the heart of a hyena. He cries and squeals and slips into the wilderness at the first sign of danger. Wladimir has proven this over the years, and I’m certain he will want no part of this lion when it finally comes time to go to war.”

This is what will likely happen if the 2 fights. Massive amount of shit talking from both sides to stir up the fight, it probably will get mainstream attention and then billed as the biggest fight in boxing for the unified HW championship, HBO or Showtime will pick it up.

But then once both gets in the ring. Wlad is going to paw with his left or jab, jab, jab, tries to land the right, then clinch/hold if Haye gets close, repeat and rinse like he has done with every opponent he faces (there's a reason why he's called boring by hardcore and casual fans). Haye more than likely will try to fight Wlad like he did against Valuev (which was a shit fight) and try to outbox Wlad from the outside.

The mainstream press will cover the fight, casual fans will tune in thinking that this will be Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Frazier and will be massively bored and disappointed saying wtf? There will then be countless articles and airtime why boxing is dead and no one cares because the HW division is so shit when the biggest HW championship fight in a decade that is so massively hyped and is considered to be the biggest fight in boxing is a dud.

Let me ask you guys this, when has Wlad been in an exciting fight that hardcore boxing and casual sports fan were both in agreement that it was an awesome fight? None, exactly. The fight will be a dud, mark my words.

    This.

It will be a million times better build-up than actual fight. There's no way safety Wlad is gonna come out of his shell against the most dangerous puncher he's faced in donkey's years and there's no way Haye is gonna go in all guns blazing.

If it's an early KO Haye is the more likely. Wlad will wait until Haye is tired and lost his sharpness before risking taking him out.

See people are buying into this idea that "Wlad will just come out establish the jab and maybe in round 5 finally throw a right cross" when the reality of the situation is that vs Sam Peter a dangerous albeit slower puncher than the WBA "Super" title holder, Wlad threw power punches from the get go, one of the first punches landed was a right cross...a right cross that would end this fight.

I have no doubts that we'll see the WBA "Super" title holder get hurt early on and try to hold on for dear life...a beautiful case of irony since part of the trash talk has been directed at "safety first" and jabbing and holding....Wlad MAY try to carry him, but he may just have a little too much fun beating the shit out of the guy and end it sooner. Plus we've got no idea how the WBA title holder's chin will hold up to Wlad's jab let alone the cross or the hook....if Ruiz can catch you and hurt you then the Magic 8 Ball says "Outlook Bad" for fighting Wladimir a guy with more KO wins (at heavyweight) than his opponent has fights (in total)

Sam Peter is a statue compared with Haye. He can't move and he's P4P one of the slowest fuckers on earth. PLUS - the fat plodder tired himself out doing a Joe Frazier impersonation in the first minute of round one. He was begging for an oxygen mask after that.

Tyson Fury would have beat him quicker than safety Wlad. Fact.

    Oh hold on....

press play and then continue on with your little rant

Sam Peter has a heart, a chin, and some guts....that's more than YOUR BOY can boast about.

How has Haye got no heart or guts? That's ridiculous.

So all you're left with is plodder Peter has a better chin (although for a fighter with no chin Haye is yet to be flattened for a ten count).

Haye can boast that he is faster than Peter, more elusive, a naturally more talented athlete, won more titles, has a higher KO percentage and has never been beaten at heavyweight.

Haye pisses all over Peter. Fact.

Trash talking is part of the bussiness. Biggest fight in boxing ? NO WAY. As much as Haye talks (other than BRITS) people won't believe he beats Klitschko (an ATG that has been smashing every opponent for the last 6-7 years).

But then once both gets in the ring. What's wrong with this. A lot of fighters use their JAB and land the right. A lot of fighters try to outbox their opponents from the outside.

The casual fans you are talking about are, i think, the CASUAL BRITISH FANS. Yes casual british fans will think its like Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Frazier, and OF COURSE it won't be, because its not a close fight its more of a 75-25 fight.
And, this fight is no bigger than Wladimir's fights with Ibragimov, Thompson, Chagaev and some others.

It is good to see some excitement in the HW division. The bullshit is immense and I was tired of Haye's trashtalking while he was still at cruiser....and I do admit he did well at the weakest weight division in boxing.

I just hope for a good fight.

I would bet the fight does not happen, but if it does, I bet it does not go the distance.

I give Wlad a massive 70-30 chance in winning this one. As I have said for about 2 years now if both were physically the same size Haye would be a very strong favourite in my eyes - but they aren't and that for me will be the crucial, and deciding, factor.

70-30 was the same way I thought when Mayweather v Hatton was announced (though I admit that after 4 days on the pop in Vegas and getting carried away with the hype by the time fight night arrived I had been converted to 0-100 in Hatton's favour........)

That's ridiculous. This is the biggest fight in boxing outside Pac-Floyd.

Casual Brit fans will buy it. German fans will buy it (60,000 punters). HBO wil buy it. And EVERY hardcore boxing fan around the world will watch it.

Whether the fight is entertaining or not is irrelevant. It is huge.

Its not the first time HBO buys a heavyweight fight and a hardcore fan should usually catch every fight with the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
European fans will buy NOTHING, they have it FOR FREE on RTL like EVERY Klitschko fight (except Britain of course).

I understand you mate, you are British. Its a huge fight, exactly.

I know German fans have it free on RTL that's why I listed the gate - 60,000. The TV numbers could be in excess of 10 million in Germany.

HBO have recently been refusing to buy Wlad fights because they are unhappy with his "boring" fights and level of competition. However, they previously stated they are interested in buying Wlad-Haye.

If EVERY hardcore boxing fan in the world is interested, an enormous live gate of 60,000+, a million Brits on PPV and HBO screening it for American fans isn't a big fight than what is? NOTHING could surpass this match barring FLoyd-Pac. It is a fact.

Really? I know the HBO people might SAY that but the numbers don't bare that out as both Wlad and Vitali have done very good numbers for HBO recently. The MAIN reason for their choice not to air Wlad or Vitali's fights stems from TIME. If they don't fight at 10 or 11:00 EST then it takes extra timeslots from HBO's major money maker MOVIES/TV SERIES .....thems the facts friend.

As for the "you guys" that's for the people who don't like Wlad and the people that believe tha the WBA title holder poses a threat to him.....so when I say "You guys are going to be very disappointed" that's who I'm talking to.

I don't think the fight is pointless, far from it, I think it's long overdue. I just don't think it will be competitive....at all. And don't say I don't give credit to the WBA title holder, I give him his due, I just don't get suckered in to giving him more than his due. I have yet to see a fighter TALK their way to victory. Is the guy good? Yeah he's got skills, he's got quick hands, he's got decent pop, but my issues with him deal with not only his piss poor attitude and loud mouth, but his lack of strategy and his focus on wide looping power punches....he could learn a bit from Holyfield if you ask me. He needs better defense, a more consistent attack not based on 1 big bomb, and he's got to fight in a composed manner. It may seem like I'm telling him to fight "safety first" but I think he should fight to his best abilities and utilize his best attributes...handspeed, power, athletic ability. He won't do any of that and because of his weakness on defense, his weak chin, and his focus on trying to land 1 big bomb he should be less dangerous than Sam Peter who could (and did) take a ton of punishment before getting stopped.

I think he'd be more competitive vs the likes of Povetkin, Adamek, Boytsov, etc...I wouldn't have minded seeing him take on Dimitrenko as that MAY have helped him deal with the height or Arreola that would have given him lots of helpful rounds vs a dangerous puncher....but he's going from the shallow end of the kiddie pool to swimming with Jaws...I wouldn't be shocked if the 1st jab buckled him a bit. You've got to admit it's a HUGE step up in competition for him.

His trash talking will only get funnier because he's going to have to spout all his bullshit right infront of Wlad....he wasn't so convincing when he confronted him at the airport that one time. The guy is digging a very deep holefor himself.

There are 2 types of people that want to see the WBA title holder ...ecuse me the "Super" WBA title holder win....#1 The "Homers" the Brits who want nothing but British champs and follow nothing but British boxing and # The Haters, the people who for whatever reason don't like the Klitschko's

This whole fight is a big con job...Wlad won't be bothered by this guy, you guys slate his competition but guys like Sam Peter who's durable and going to be around for 10-12 rounds is much more dangerous than this dude who has been dropped by Mormeck and hurt by Ruiz.
