see my post above big boy

makes sense doesnt it?
No way!

I put some big hills in my runs and sometimes I need to stop because the legs are burning so much. That never happens on a treadmill

There is a big difference when you are purposefully putting in hills than to running on normal flat road. I dont think about times, just distances. As long as I know I can cover a certain distance without having to stop, im happy. I think of running as a bank im putting miles in. When im in to it I like to aim for 20 miles a week, which is only 4, 5 mile runs. I run to get fit, not because I enjoy it. When I boxed, I did run every day and used to run our cliff paths, lots of steep hills. Im looking to build stamina.
well obviously you cant compare the two if you are running up big hills on the road and flat on the treadmill

and you cant know if you do one faster than the other if you dont time yourself

but if you run a similar run on both, if you are at a certain level of fitness, you will more than likely find you run further faster on the roads, i challenge you to try it

when did you box? who did you box for? were you anygood? how come you stopped?
