If he can't get a big fight soon I wouldn't mind sseeing Martinez vs Dirrell.

By the way, Williams said he wanted a 3rd fight but IMO, I don't think he really meant it. But for certain, the Williams camp didn't want a 3rd fight. The next time we see P. Williams, it will be at 154 or 147. Not 160! And someone with no real pop. Like Sergio Mora
The thing is Martinez is a 160lber obsessed with fighting a pair of WWs, neither of whom is a natural at that weight class. I like him a lot, but neither of those guys come in on fight night at anywhere near 160, so why go up to fight him there. It's like saying that Gamboa is ducking Bradley.

There's still the likes of Sturm & Pirog who fights could be made against, not to mention that there are a number of promising Middleweights coming through like Golovkin, Guerrero, Jacobs & Korobov. There's even some more LMWs if he's desperate. Or if he wants to show he's the best fighter in the world step up to 168 & take on a Bute or at least a Stieglitz. He's the name at 154-160 seeing as HBO is now behind him so I'm sure he can get some decent fights.

Martinez wants the big pay day. You can't really blame him. He also has said that he wouldn't fight Pacquiao because he is too small. He only brings up Manny to challenge his p4p status because he wants to be ranked #1. As an aside, if Manny takes a Cotto rematch after he beats Mosley and Martinez fought and dominated Pirog, there is a good argument that Martinez deserves #1. Manny fights Berto and he retains the #1 spot.

Mayweather fought Oscar at 154 a few years ago, so a fight at 154 against Martinez isn't completely out there. Mayweather has a less risky and more lucrative fight against Pacquiao, so, Martinez is dreaming if he really believes that fight would ever get made.

It makes sense that Martinez would challenge Cotto. Cotto is true junior middleweight now in as much as Martinez is a true middleweight. If Martinez was willing to come down to 154 to make the fight happen, I don't see why it can't be made, leaving everything else aside. Of course, it won't be made and Margacheato will get another big pay day.

Speaking of super middleweights, I don't think Sergio should make that jump regardless of the money, at least not yet. He's only fought at middleweight for two fights.

In regards to the middleweights you mentioned, Jacobs was knocked out by Pirog, so, he shouldn't be on that list anymore if anything because he is still rebuilding. Korobov is still fighting 8 round fights - he isn't even close to ready for Martinez. Guerrero is a little further along than the others, but he struggled with Ishe Smith, granted it is easy to struggle against Ishe Smith, but Guerrero is still a prospect. Golovkin is boggled down in promotional problems, and he is scheduled to fight N'Dam in June. http://www.boxingscene.com/golovkin-...-monaco--37504 . A win over N'Dam would give him the best resume. I think he is eyeing Sturm's belt after that from what I read. He's the best of the bunch you mentioned. But, I mean, he wouldn't make any sense to fight now. He's a risk and no one knows who he is. At middleweight, there are really only two names: Sturm and Pirog. Sturm won't fight anyone worthy so hopefully the Pirog fight gets made in the near future.
