Where are the guys who were saying that Mayweather is better than Pac because Mayweather had a convincing win against Marquez (@146 lbs overweight) while Pac had a draw with him (@130)?

Now that Pac is fighting Marquez at the same weight Mayweather fought him, I hear too many excuses about how it will be a mismatch. At least, be consistent. Is it because you are afraid that Pac dominates Marquez more than what Mayweather did?

Pacman is going to destroy JMM because he's faster now and hits harder now.
If JMM give any sort of good showing, I'll be surprise. JMM can recoup good, but his chin is suspect.

A remacth with Marquez is on the cards.

Those two have unfinished business but it shouldnt be settled at 147. 140 at the most IMO.

Pac has his next two fights lined up and theres still no sign of Floyd. Marquez will be awkward but I think weight and age are really against him in this fight. I know Mosleys old too but he has always had the equalizer which makes his fight with Pac interesting for 5 rounds. After that it will be a case of Pac hitting and not being hit as he rolls under Moleys desperate swings moves to the side and peppers him with combos. Basically repeating that process until its stopped or goes to the cards.

Marquez will be more cautious but I dont see his reflexes being able to handle Pacman at this stage. For the record I think he beat Pac twice but will be beaten decisivley in a 3rd fight.

Marquez and Mayweather are the only ones left that have a storyline. I'm going to assume based on history Mayweather won't happen. So that leaves Marquez in my book. It could be impressive to see him move up to fight Maravilla, but in the scheme of everything he's done it doesn't really add as much luster as Marquez.

I say JMM, plently of folks want to see it, and the opportunities are waning as JMM is getting much older and PAC is closer to retirement.

News outlets are saying it's probably Juan Manuel Marquez in Oct 2011.

I'm disappointed as that whiny Marquez got 2 shots already and couldn't get the job done. Let someone else get a turn.

It was Marquez who turned down the initial rematch with Pacquiao in the 1st place.

Juan Manuel Marquez turned down 750 thousand dollars to rematch Pacquiao (who was also offered 750 thousand), and then Marquez signed to fight Chris John instead for only about 35 thousand dollars, and then he lost to Chris John setting him back even further.

Marquez is lucky that Pac Man even gave him the 2nd fight at all after Marquez lost to John and after Marquez had already turned down a Pacquiao rematch previously.




Dammit, I hoped and prayed for an epic battle between Pacquiao and Sergio Martinez.
Maybe it'll still happen.

Ortiz, Alexander, Bradley, Berto, Maidana: none of those guys have what it takes to beat Pacquiao.

He should go up to 140 - 150 and fight hatton, cotto, clottey, margarito, and mosley then. Instead he is stuck at 135 fighting small meals like diaz who he already knocked out before. BTW who is he fighting next?

I'm not really sure that Casamayor and Juan Diaz were the best options at 135 tbh. I agree that David Diaz was definitely the weak link though.

In any event, hopefully, Marquez gets the opportunity to have a third fight with Pacquiao now. The problem is that I'm not convinced Marquez can be as effective above 135 than he has at 135 and below. Maybe he just has Pacman's number though. However you judged the first two fights between Pacquiao and Marquez, the winner of the third will have bragging rights.
