ive been saying ever since that jmm and pbf can beat pac. but is it really a good idea to judge the outcome of pbf vs pac based on the mosley fight? mosley was gunshy the whole night he also concentrated too much on defense. pure defense and no offense wont win you the fight and weve seen before that when you go toe to toe with pac the opponent usually pays. except jmm maybe but he got dropped a few times too. one thing is certain im sure pbf is pissed cause pac dropped shane while he cant.![]()
Knocking Shane down is a big deal its only the 2nd time in his career he's been down.
Does anyone think Pac lightened up on Shane to make a Floyd fight more likely? I don't know, I didn't watch the fight.
I wake up this morning still mad I paid to see Shane Mosely run and run not willing to fight or counter. It was one of the most despicable showings I can remember. Mosely was there to pick up 1 last big pay day and that was it

Forrest did it 2x. No I watched the fight. PAC is slipping for sure. He is there to be countered and hit Mosely didn't want to try or fight. Seriously after seeing this and the Margarito fight. I'm certain Floyd would eat him up. PBF jab is superior and wouldn't abandon it and would capitalize on the openings presents more than ever. He would also bully and torment PAC on the inside.. Floyd would mix ranges and make it real messy up close.. Floyd presents to many problems for PAC. After Pac's last few fights, the thought that PAC is just going to run in their and roll PBF over with speed and power is plain foolish. PAC has been slipping and has gaping holes. I saw barely an angle or that great unorthodox footwork that gives him those special effect type punches he is famous for. If a 39 year old Carl Lewis of a Mosely can stunt his footwork, than PBF will torture him technically
after the fight in the interview he was asked if the new shoes made him uncomfortable or gave him troubles. pac said his leg was cramping up thats why he performed differently. im not saying thats the only reason but i also think that pac is weary of shanes counter punch. i think thats the major reason why pac fought like that.
I agree. Manny knocked Shane down. Shane nearly knocked Floyd down.
Think Manny-Floyd goes same route as Manny-Shane fight.
1st round: feeling out round.
2nd round: Manny knocks Floyd down just as Shane almost did.
From then on, Floyd's behind a couple of rounds, he starts losing rounds as Manny's throwing, while Floyd's avoiding being hit. At some point, Floyd says, "Screw the 0, I don't wanna get knocked out" and it's all over.
It's a moot point, though.
Floyd Mayweather will never fight Manny Pacquiao. He's too scared. Shane Mosley called it. He'd never seen that much power and speed. And that's including Floyd's speed.
A couple points/observations about the fight came Pac's future opponents. After the knockdown and the look on Shane's face, it was over. He was just trying not to get knocked out. Mosley is shot, plain and simple. As far as Manny not looking great, it was kinda tough too look great with his style against a guy that was just in there to survive. Now the top fight for Pac is obviously Mayweather, it just won't happen though. So let's look at future opponents... I believe in Pacquiao's agreement with Top Rank there's a minimum amount he has to make for a fight. I think for that big reason is why we'll see him with big names not necessarily the best opponents. The next fight will probably be Marquez. 144 is being thrown around, too high of a weight for Marquez. Manny will get the knockout this time and look good doing it. Then we'll probably have a Cotto rematch because he's the "biggest" name out there. The angle would be Cotto has a real trainer now, Cotto will never be the same after the Margarito fight. Personally I'd like to see him against Ortiz. But we have the whole Golden Boy issue. Hopefully that issue can be solved. For the record there I personally can't stand Golden Boy. Their stealing of fighters has just gotten old, try to develop some talent. Hell, they even stole Ortiz with that bankruptcy nonsense.
actually i don't think it is so much Pac slipping as what 24/7 and 360 have been showing us all along...Manny is having too many outside distractions during training camp!!! The celeberty thing and the politics mixed in are just becoming more and more...almost impossible to get a proper camp...I mean they almost blantanly say his real camp begins when he arrives in the States...I don't casre who you are or how good you are a fighter can not face the upper tier on half hearted training camps....
IF a bout between him and Floyd ever does take place hopefully we see him do a FULL camp with no outsider distractions so we get the best fight out of each so the answer is legit on who really is the best.....At this point though both men will be surpassed as the best P4P by another fighter because one trains half assed the other fights on leap years only![]()

My guess with this fight is that PAC actually undertrained. He wasn't at his normal -5.5% BF, and even though he had Shane trigger shy, he didn't look as explosive as normal. I do fault heavily to Shane who absolutely ruined that fight for me and all the people that paid for it. I don't think that either way PAC/PBF can be judged based on this fight at all, because it's a one off, not a trend if Manny looks more flat in the next fight then he's declining, otherwise it was an off night (over/under trained, cramps, whatever). What can be said for sure is that Mosley has been declining for some time now and although his performance was disappointing it wasn't unexpected.
I don't think Pac or his camp really got up for this fight, I mean Roach was in the corner of Abe yesterday as well.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Pacquiao was going for the kill every freaking round. Right hook, jab-jab and power straight left. That's all I saw from him. No under-and-out. No darting in-and-out. It was all in-in-in! Berstein pointed it out right away in early rounds that Pac wasn't making lateral movements. Pac took Mosely's legs after he knocked him down. I knew Mosely was gonna run all night after that. If he gave Mosely a chance to make it a boxing match after the third round, Pac would've gotten a KO win just like the Hatton fight.
Very disappointing fight.
Arce stole the show. What a great win!
I honestly thought to myself that Manny may have carried Shane. It didn't look like he was going after him - he didn't seem to be interested in the KO. It just looked like a glorified sparring session.
