Mate she is probably looking for just a casual relationship at first, not to compare who has the most grim life.

Obviously people date because it is enjoyable. If she is tired or had a bad day it will not be enjoyable to her, and she probably will have a negative outlook about you.
It is in your best interest to just be patient until she is in a good receptive mood.

How late did she let me know? Well I was at the place we had set to meet when she for the most part broke down into a hissy fit like my 4 year old niece.

I was irritated by it last night and rightfully so, because her actions are a prime example of what we like to call "a self fulfilling prophecy". Her last relationship was bad perhaps abusive (at least verbally/emotionally so) and I know that (though not the extent to which it was abusive) and so I treat her like I would any other woman I go out with....I'm a gentleman of course I treat ladies nicely. Well she's apparently not used to that and has made it up in her mind that she's not worthy and has subconsciously set out to weaken and maybe even destroy the current relationship. Men are certainly capable of such asinine behavior and I myself have had my own defeatist mentality interfere with relationships, but when it comes down to crazy, men just can't compete with the fairer sex.
