I went fishing today Ghost.
I go at least once a week (when not frozen) and usually 2 or 3 times. I usually go for an hour or two before I get groceries. I caught 2 pike last week though.

Never been ice fishing. None of lakes where I lived or live now, froze over in winter. Always wanted to try it tho.
Used to spend hours, catching bream, bass and catfish back home in fresh water. Down here in Oz, they have barramundie (sp) which are something large mouth bass, which can be a joy to catch.
Caught my first Rainbow Trout a few years ago down here (just enough for a feed) in a stream down in Victoria.

Fishing is a great way to relax , dont go as often as i would like to , be i have caught fish all over the world.
A few moths ago,I swear my wife found me an Eagle Claw rod with a Shimano open faced reel lying the resevoir
yeah I love fishing, my mates got a mobile down the south of Ireland right beside these cliffs that are great for fishing off, love spending wkends down there, never catch much though and what I do catch I chuck back in!
Saturday morning I got up early, dressed quietly, made my lunch,
grabbed the dog, slipped quietly into the garage to hook the boat up to the truck,
and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour.
The wind was blowing 50 mph. I pulled back into the garage,
turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad throughout the day.
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed.
There I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation,
and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'
My loving wife of 20 years replied,
'Can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that shit?'
I still don't know to this day if she was joking, but I've stopped fishing.

once I was out fishing with my sister , just trolling around a lake, and she managed to catch another lure, a small Rapala which sort of resembles a minnow.. It was hooked by the eye loop where you tie the line, and had been thre so long the hooks were rusted away. I just though it kind of ironic that on a lake of several square miles in size, one could drag the point of a hook through a little metal loop less that 1/4 inch in size, wihout even noticing until it was reeled in.
