    Cool Fishing

On a slow summer afternoon, next to a lake or stream. Fish biting (or not) just relaxing.

    I went fishing today Ghost.

I go at least once a week (when not frozen) and usually 2 or 3 times. I usually go for an hour or two before I get groceries. I caught 2 pike last week though.

Never been ice fishing. None of lakes where I lived or live now, froze over in winter. Always wanted to try it tho.

Used to spend hours, catching bream, bass and catfish back home in fresh water. Down here in Oz, they have barramundie (sp) which are something large mouth bass, which can be a joy to catch.

Caught my first Rainbow Trout a few years ago down here (just enough for a feed) in a stream down in Victoria.

A couple of years back I went with my buddy up to his cottage. It sits on a lake that has average fishing at best. Anyways, we had done all our shopping, and I had a bag full of food in the fridge at home. The rest of our available cash went to beer, weed, and gasoline. Anyways, when we arrived at the cottage I found that I had grabbed the wrong bag from the fridge. All we had was empty bottles of ketchup and mayonaise, an empty margarine container and a bit of salad dressing. The weekend wasn't looking good. So we took the canoe out on to the lake and crossed our fingers. I got lucky and caught `a very nice pike that gave us a few pounds of filets, enough to get us through the weekend. It was the only fish I had ever caught where I had to catch something or else I'd go hungry.

I would rather watch paint dry and grass grow or watch Formula 1 racing.

I love fishing. Bit of afair weather fisherman to be honest, dont go as often as I'd like. Carp on the pole for me, cant stand bite alarms, rod pods and bivvies. Thats not fishing.
