Default Ortiz vs. Berto - Fight of the year thus far???

    Agree.
    Disagree.

    4 knockdowns
    Back and forth action
Huge shots landed up until the final round

    Thoughts?

No fucking way. The first six rounds were outstanding, and then Berto decided to turn it into a hold-fest in order to survive. The last half of the fight was mediocre and only interesting because of what happened in the first half. Round 6 will probably be round of the year though.

IMO Morales/Maidana is the front runner for FOTY right now

Def. the 1st half of the fight was more exciting then the 2nd half but who on here wasn't thinking that at any point Berto could KO Ortiz with 1 shot?

Berto did hold more but there was still plenty of action.

Up until the last seconds Ortiz was running in coming into Berto and getting tagged.

Morales vs. Maidana is up there but for my likings thus far I have Ortiz-Berto ahead.

I had a good bet on Ortiz to win by KO, can't believe he couldn't finish the fight off. So I vote it the worst fight of the year. Fact.

(What a 6th round though, that ain't getting beat)

I posted on my facebook that because of how the fight finished, it might not win fight of the year, but round 6 is going to be really hard to top for round of the year.

The first half of the fight was a rollercoaster but I really thought the pace slowed down and the drama was no longer their the second half.

I still have Morales vs Maidana as fight of the year.

Hard to argue with THAT logic.

I agree, the first half was great, but the second half was a bit of a stink fest with the octopus man doing nothing more than punch and grab. It had echoes of Hatton/Urango except Hatton wasn't getting all that hurt against Urango.
