Jeff looked good early on against Mendoza, then seem to fade and eat more shots. This isint an excuse but a fact, Mendoza chopped Lacy in the back of the head about 20x so as I dont think it would of made lacy look like a world beater but I'm sure that wears you down not to mention Mendoza is a big time puncher..
Taylor on the other hand hasnt looked good in years, couldnt stop natural Welterweights in Ouma and Spinks not to mention Spinks by many peoples accounts won that fight or deserved a draw, then he got concussed by Pavlik, followed up with being outboxed by Pavlik..
People keep bringing up the Taylor Jab.. I got news for you he hasnt utilized that Jackhammer jab consistently since before the 1st Hopkins fight..
The truth is its a crossroads fight for both of these guys for 2 different reasons, Lacy has to answer questions about being shot and Taylor has to answer questions on all the hyped he recieved and was he deserving of it. One could make an arguement that Taylor being the younger athletic man got Hopkins at the right time and just outlasted him 2X and then drawing against a smaller Winky and not being able to put away to Welterweights and then being owned by Pavlik 2x.. I'm sure Taylor has 2nd guessed himself quite a few times as well lately.
I will go on record to say that I do favor Taylor but not by much... Both had solid chins and both had them clipped hard as of late so it wouldnt suprise me if one caught the other and blew him out of there...
